America's Next Top Model Cycle 12

^awesome luminum. thanks for sharing. those articles definitely made me love celia even more. i know she'll have some great modeling opportunities ahead of her -

celia actually reminds me of a nicer-version of C7 melrose. both knew alot about the industry, both had amazing walks, both had beautiful poise and were well-spoken -

the one thing celia has going against her, though, is her somewhat mannish face - but, hey, all the other stuff going for her can make up for that.

so - i gotta say, allison's walk definitely blew me away. i agree with moe that mckey's walk sucked ass (but her walk has always been stiff and uninspiring).

but i'm with yeahwhatever on allison's walk - girl pulled it out, even during the samba/dance walk, she loosened up and did a little shake in front of miss jay).

she seriously pulled it together, and i felt like a proud papa watching her on the runway. she looked like a real, working model. i honestly thought she'd have the same wonky walk that she's had throughout the cycle.

i agreed with the judges (for once) - allison really surprised me, and - in my opinion - even upstaged teyona.

don't get me wrong - teyona's walk has always been good (although, i personally thought aminat and celia had better walks than teyona - with celia edging aminat out for best walk this cycle, given her poise and personality), but teyona was just too serious for me. and teyona's walk, while good, wasn't exactly memorable or signature.

i agree with moe that teyona's a step-up from past winners like suckleisha and whitney, but it just irks me that she was literally handed this win on a silver platter. and what makes it worse is that tyra continued to congratulate her for all her "hard work" and amazing photos -

it's like - please. teyona could've sat around and done nothing, and you still would've given her the win. sure she worked hard, but so did the other girls. and beyond that, the judges gave her so many free passes that it was ridiculous (she really should've been eliminated after that CG ad/photo - horrendous).

the other thing about teyona that's bothersome is that she's totally inarticulate. did anyone else cringe when she started talking in the finale montage about how much she like wanted to like be a like model for like forever, like that's what she's like always like wanted - like, yeah.

ugh.
as much as tyra has gone on about how antm needs to be a great spokesperson, she clearly turned a blind eye/deaf ear towards teyona.

does anyone else remember cycle 6, when tyra gave dani hell for having a southern accent?
at least dani was coherent and spoke full sentences. teyona - whoa. it's like, pick a topic and say something coherent.

but, whatevs - that's how the cookie crumbles.

and- yeah, it was nice to see paulina show a little dissent during the last two judgings. restored my faith in her, but then i realized she was fired.

good for her, though, for going on the late late show to talk about what happened. she was actually pretty professional, but at the same time, very biting.

but yeah - how sheisty that they fired her on her birthday. tyra's ego is too big for her own good.

meh...just saw the finale tonite....now Tyra can be happy again since she fulfilled her agenda again

though I'm glad Allison proved herself on the runway and in the last few photos...I'm sure she'll do great since that seems to be the case with this show...the winners do "a'ight"...but the winner-ups do much much better career wise

I totally agree with you. Look at Anya Kopp, Shannon from 1st cycle, Mercedes and so many more. Somehow there seems to be a curse with the the ANTM winners, in fact the only few rare times the winner makes it bigger are with Jaslene and maybe Nicole only.

After I watched the runway show, and the two girls are standing in front of the panel with their pictures being judged (and almost EVERY SINGLE PICTURE the judges were like- Alison, here you are stronger than Teyona), there was almost a moment when I went- Alison could win this.

And I agree, with her hair pulled back and her runway walk finally polished and her weird 'What???' expression gone- tonight in front of the panel was the FIRST time in the season I went- there's a model there.

Damn, she should have win, or even Aminat, or even Celia.

Definitely not Teyona.

Damn, Tyra, damn!

Well here I am making my return to the America's Next Top Model thread after being absent since Cycle 10 AFTER the current season has ended. Oh well :D

Anyways, I don't think anyone gives Adrianne enough credit. Maybe she hasn't made it in the world of haute couture high fashion, but she's certainly the most famous out of all of the winners.

Teyona was a safe, but good choice for this season.

Also, Celia's "mannish" face is NOT the only thing working against her. Don't you remember how old she is? She also needs to lose weight, sorry but the girl needs to check her thighs in the mirror. I can just imagine her going on a real-go see (NOT an America's Next Top Model go-see) "Hi, I'm Celia!" "How old are you?" "I'm 25!" Then the designer gives her this look O_O

Shame on London for packing on the pounds, she had promise.

Aminat, ummmm HELL NO! I have never seen a more undeserving contestant make it as far in the competiton as she did - Well maybe besides Ann C3.

Okay I'm done.
