The Post obtained DPS documents from the agency through a public records that show employees discussing the request. The records request was titled, “AG Request Sex Change Data” and “AG data request.”

“Need total number of changes from male to female and female to male for the last 24 months, broken down by month,” DPS’s driver license division chief told colleagues in an email on June 30, the Post reported. “We won’t need DL/ID numbers at first but may need to have them later if we are required to manually look up documents.”

I can't comment on the actual hard core literacy stats in the US, but I do suspect that the functional literacy rate could be around that figure and that includes comprehension and the ability to abstract information and apply critical thinking skills.

In previous generations there was an aspiration to achieve a higher level of literacy and education. There is a nakedly apparent reason why the most powerful economic elites have supported the glorification and elevation of functional, cultural, historical and political illiteracy.

The right deliberately creates bad education, no argument. I've tried talking trogs with multiple degrees off the ledge, but they don't want to hear it. The moment you contradict the lies, they shut you off, walk away, start what-about-ing, start to scoff and belittle, call names, get belligerent, or some other strategy that means they don't have to hear anything.

There is nothing to be done for them. Either time will educate them, or they'll just be deplorable until they're six feet under.

The good news is that they aren't the majority of people, they're about 20-30 percent or so. It is possible to reach the rest.

What actually infuriates me more these days is the number of everyone else who clearly understand the danger and do NOTHING but complain about it. I can't tell you how many times I've canvassed someone who is terribly sympathetic until they are required to act. Those people either promise help, then run away, or don't show up, or get belligerent when you remind them that democracy is their direct responsibility.

People don't like it when you tell them that they have to save themselves, and there is no shining knight on the way, that pisses THEM off.
