And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

...They won't vote to turf him. Because then the GQP will just start turning around when it is their turn to try to turf out liberal judges...like the discussion we've been having about the Wisconsin state supreme court and SCOTUS will become totally politicized...

That kind of argument is utterly moot. No matter what happens, that is exactly what the right is going to do. No matter what. No matter who, no matter if it's ethical or noyt.

There is no argument to be made not to do X because the 'pubs will retaliate, they will go farther than the Dems ever will no matter what. It's the same as arguing appeasement with respect to Putin.

RFK Jr. and Bannon.

Bannon has been pushing the anti-vaxxer...no other issue...RFK Jr. to run for prez against Biden.

He doesn't stand a chance...but how fucking messed up does Bobby's boy have to be to be coached by Bannon?

From Jon Cooper:

Former chief Trump strategist Steve Bannon spent months encouraging rabid anti-vaxxer Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to run against President Biden in the 2024 election. Bannon hoped that RFK Jr. could serve as a "useful chaos agent,” while his well-known name could spread anti-vaccine sentiment around the country. Now we learn that RFK Jr. has indeed filed to run against President Biden in the 2024 Democratic presidential primary. This intended chaos can only benefit the eventual GOP candidate — whether that’s Trump or someone else.

The Tennessee State House voted to remove the two Black guys - but not the White woman.

Why? Because they were uppity, they may dress that up in different clothes, but that is the fact of it.

And because they are young, bright men who have opinions in a legislature full of old white guys from parts of Tennessee that are dying a slow death. Not only have 150,000 Tennesseans been disenfranchised, the State is going to have to spend millions of dollars for new primaries and new elections to fill those seats.

Those old straight white guys are getting away with it because of gerrymandering, but they are on the losing side of demographics and of history.

In the South, that is the fucking definition of uppity negro.

Only behind closed doors in Tennessee, negro is not the word being used.

You know, I keep expecting this fucking shit to die, and I look at that and I know from the depths of my Texan soul that had those two gone into that session all Nah suh, and shufflin' a'hat in hand, they would still be there.

The offense was having opinions and a spine while Black. Not so long ago, they'd both be swingin'. This was just a lynching that hasn't drawn blood... yet.

I hope to God that the districts that elected them return them to the State House with overwhelming margins.

because the racist White fucks who did this are all snickering in their satisfaction right now that they "taught" the lesson they wanted.

Had they thrown out all three I would not be so irate. I just hate it so much every time we prove we deserve the reputation we have. This is quite literally the worst most offensive outcome.

More men in dresses molesting children:

Clergy members across the Archdiocese of Baltimore abused hundreds of children and teenagers over the course of six decades, abetted by a church hierarchy that systematically failed to investigate and restrict their access to children, according to a detailed report from the Maryland attorney general released on Wednesday...

The report includes the names of 33 clergy members who were not previously identified as abusers, according to Terence McKiernan, the president of the victims’ advocacy group Bishop Accountability, who called for Archbishop William E. Lori to add those names to the archdiocese’s existing public list of accused clergy members...

In total, the report documents 156 clergy members who abused more than 600 children starting in the 1940s. The report also redacts the names of some members of the hierarchy who helped protect them.

Maybe tennessee has bigger fish to fry than expelling reps for protesting, "heinous" is a redundant term for sex crimes but before working as a school nurse where he filmed students in his bathroom, this jackanapes worked in a hospital. having an active imagination sucks when you read stories like this cuz i have a pretty vivid idea of what kind of abuse he could do in that setting.

Oh, I agree with you that race played a factor in which of the three were voted out. That was made clear in one of the speeches that cited the examples of WASP Republican legislators who sexually assaulted high school students or who peed in another legislator's chair or who were under Federal indictment who were not voted out.

But I also think that these old white guys from the hills and hollers of Tennessee are really threatened by new ideas, new ways and people who don't "know their place", regardless of race. If you read some of the interviews with the old white guys, they said that the young men weren't contrite and apologetic, which is why more of the Rs voted to oust them. And lest we forget, the white female legislator came close to being voted out but fell just short of the 2/3 majority needed to vote her out.

The same Republicon mega-donor Harlan Crow who secretly showered Clarence Thomas with private jet flights, luxury yacht cruises & lavish resort vacations for over 20 years also gave thousands of dollars to Kyrsten Sinema & Joe Manchin.

A man who knows he can buy who he wants.

Also interesting to note that the LA Times reported on Thomas taking gifts from Crow in 2004.

In response, Thomas just stopped reporting them.

Oh Sen. Durbin? But your committee and the Senate have no intention of implementing an enforceable code of ethics, do you?

A slap on the wrist and the Thomases will skate again. Won't they?

I'm not yelling at you, I'm just yelling. Everything I heard the trogs say about this could have come straight out of the mouth of one of my
great-grandparents. All that talk of "contrition" is code. Old school code. They don't mean that there should be some kind of atonement for violating some kind of rules of order, that means they need to be beaten down for getting above their place, as an example to all the rest.

They might have just shown up with the dogs and burning crosses. I'm sure there is other stuff in there, but I stand by my statement, this was a lynching. Race was the primary motivator. They told us all that very clearly - and they know that as well as I do. That was the point.

The new idea they can't stomach is racial equality. How long is it before the full force of Jim Crow comes back to Tennessee? Because that is where this leads.

And Uncle Thomas and the rest will not even try to stop it.

There is nothing the Senate can do until the House impeaches. For all the hot air, there is no other penalty that can be enforced.

The trogs in the House will not impeach, nor will they criminalize the bribers.

Thomas is most likely not the only one guilty of taking bribes. None of them are going to bother to stop, why should they?
