And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

I found this interesting since I really don't know Mike Lindell other than bits and pieces about how successful he is, how crazy he is, and that he's Trump's bitch. Kimmel was not easy on him, but Mike took it all in stride and they even laughed together a lot of the time. They never got into specifics though on his ongoing lawsuit with Dominion Voting Systems, and also this so called evidence Mike has about the election fraud...that's supposedly going to be presented to the Supreme Court. It's rather peculiar that Mike, of all people, would be the one in possession of the evidence too.

Anyway...Kimmel has been getting a lot of flack for giving Lindell a platform to spew his conspiracy theories. Mike did seem sane though, but I really have to question the validity of the evidence he possesses...just seems we've heard about secret evidence that's going to be exposed from others all too often (Rudy...I'm looking at you! ).

Kimmel seems to consistently fall into this trap.

But he is desperate for ratings at this point.

I think it's a good thing that Kimmel invited Lindell on the show. We are a country that believes in open dialogue (or at least we used to). Kimmel has been mocking Lindell in his monologues (to be fair, using clips and direct quotes from Lindell), so it was only fair that Lindell be invited to be on the show. I also think that Kimmel did a good interview. His observation that Hunter Biden and Lindell have a lot in common was also astute.

Lindell reminds me a lot of Ross Perot. Perot was a decent man but once he got rich, he got paranoid and was as mad as a hatter by the end of his life. There's something about having lots of money that seems to make these guys paranoid and they seem to fall more and more into in conspiracy theories over time.

Lindell is not interested in dialogue, he's interested in making false accusations. When he ponies up some kind of proof to a legitimate news source or court of law, then we might get to some kind of dialogue, but I doubt it. There is nothing good that ever comes from normalizing hater crazy. It's also obvious (obviously) that Kimmel is not a journalist, and the point of that was some kind of misguided guilt trip.

Lindell is not a folksy crazy Uncle Ross, he's part of the reason officials are getting death threats, five people are dead, and racist terrorists attacked our government. He and all of the others are responsible for every nasty, vile thing that the hater right has done since November - all in the name, and under the cover of the lie he's peddling, all in service to the fascist toad. He can chuckle and titter till the cows come home, but what do you think his actual opinions on Black Americans might be?

The stuff that I heard in the Lindell interview was exactly the stuff that Perot was saying in the late 90s.

Perot believed that that the Bush family was harassing him and was plotting to disrupt his daughter's wedding. He accused the Republicans of using a computer to put his daughters head on photos that they were going to release to embarrass Mr Perot. He believed the GOP had hired former CIA operatives to hack into his computers. He went everywhere with a group of bodyguards because he believed that powerful people were out to kill him. He moved his company to Plano into a building that had a large wall around it because he was worried that the Iranian military was going to conduct a terrorist attack against him and his company. He said that former US government employees were calling him and giving him inside information about plots against him.

Like Perot, Lindell has moments when he sounds perfectly reasonable. He has run a successful business. But upon a prolonged look, it becomes apparent that he's a paranoid lunatic who has fallen down the rabbit hole of conspiracy theories.

The difference is that the GOP is different. In the 90s, the GOP was a political party with a conservative political philosophy underpinned by an economic theory (or pseudo-theory, depending upon you viewpoint). The GOP of today looks more like a religious cult that has become cult of personality and they've become increasingly dependent upon anti-government racist rhetoric, evangelical fervor and conspiracy theories.

^ That's the impression that I got from Lindell...I really think he believes the info he has is proof of fraud. He's blinded to reason and facts. It doesn't make sense for a sane, successful business man to risk his fortune and reformed reputation, to knowingly continue a scam that he wouldn't be able to win if the evidence he has is bogus. He's all in on this...maybe that's the addict in him. He's now part of the far right radical club/cult now and they're acceptance of him into the group is just feeding and justifying his drive to promote these "theories" and see them through. It's sad and scary that so many people in this country have been sucked into the cult. They still think the election was stolen from Trump, and support whatever means it takes to make Biden's presidency a failure...even if it hurts the country. I know some people like this and there's really no reasoning with them.

The question that I'm left with is whether there is a difference between Lindell and Trump on these conspiracy theory things.

It seems that Trump- the pathological narcissist- is desperately looking for any reason to convince himself that he's not a loser and that's he's not President for any reason other that the simple fact that enough Americans voted against him because they thought he was a bad President.

Lindell (and Perot before him) are true believers. They aren't in it for the same fragile ego issues that motivate Trump. For some reason, their paranoia leads them to buy into conspiracy theories, especially those that have an element of dark powers and secret cabals out to get them.

Josh Duggar Charged with Receiving and Possessing Child Pornography, Pleads Not Guilty [People]
Josh Duggar has been charged with receiving and possessing child pornography.

On Friday, the former 19 Kids and Counting star appeared at the hearing at the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Arkansas via Zoom, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, where he was charged.

During his court appearance, he pleaded not guilty to the two charges against him: one count of receipt of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography. (His attorneys declined to have the judge read out the charges against him.)...

Josh allegedly used the internet to download material of child sexual abuse, "some of which depicts the sexual abuse of children under the age of 12, in May 2019," according to a press release.

I thought we already knew that he was a sick pedo.

The Duggar's have mercifully disappeared from public view.

Just as long as he hasn't been active....I guess that might be one small mercy?

Any idea if it is boys or girls?

He always struck me as a fucked up closet case.

And speaking of underage girls...

It seems that screenshots of text message discussions between Joel Greenberg and Roger Stone have surfaced. The discussions were about a "congressman from Florida’s 1st Congressional District", underage girls and transfers of $250,000 to Roger Stone to buy a Presidential pardon from Trump.

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

...Why isn't he in jail for the molestation again?

He is now, finally. He's charged with two counts of possession of child pornography and the indictment alleges it was porn that depicted the abuse of children under 12 years old. And it's Federal Court, so he's screwed.

Duggar has 6 children and another one on the way. ](*,)

The circular firing squad...

In Feb, Rep Ron Wright (R-TX) died of COVID-19. Last week a special election was held to fill the seat. Among the candidates were 11 Republicans, including Susan Wright (Mr Wright's wife), Michael Wood (a never Trumper and former Marine) and Dan Rodimer (a Trumper and former professional wrestler- campaign slogan:Make America Texas Again although he's from New Jersey).

Someone set up robocalls to potential voters the week before the election that accused Mrs Wright of killing her husband so that she could take his seat in Congress.

Let's see... which of Mrs Wright's opponents might have been responsible for the robocalls?

The Duggar guy is more revolting than I thought, and I already thought he was very disgusting.

^ But, then, the "Twinkie Defense" (Dan White's murder of Moscone and Milk in San Francisco in the 1970s) held up enough that he was convicted only of manslaughter, though it was really premeditated Murder One x2. Also, a drunk rich guy in Texas in the 2010s was let off after causing a fatal car crash, because of rich privilege. So, you never know...Foxitis (or Foxmania) might stick.

It's amazing that Rep. Andrew Clyde, and other Rep's, can attempt to spin the truth about the invasion into the Capitol Building that day, which resulted in 5 deaths, multiple injuries and considerable damage, into just another day on the hill. Those people crossed police lines and broke in! The absurdity of his comment is just astounding! Unfortunately there are too many that believe the lies, or just want to continue to spin it to suit their own agenda. The man is not fit to serve office.

Clyde asserted that television footage from Jan. 6 showed people entering the Capitol and taking videos and pictures "in an orderly fashion" and "if you didn't know the TV footage was a video from January the 6th, you would actually think it was a normal tourist visit."

The Kentucky Legislature has noticed that McConnell is looking more ashen every day.

Kentucky House passes new rules for filling Senate vacancies [AP]
Kentucky lawmakers passed a bill Tuesday that would remove Democratic Gov. Andy Beshear’s ability to appoint a member of his own party to fill a vacancy in the U.S. Senate if one occurred.

The legislation, which Republican lawmakers pushed forward after discussions with U.S. Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, now heads to the governor’s desk.
