This is defined as sexual assault, but it's really a bullying sports culture thing. Those are extreme examples of the common hazing culture that's actually encouraged by the coaches, and if you report it, they'll tell you to suck it up and don't be such a pussy.
I remembered these stories from when they came across the national news feed.
I get what you're saying about "hazing". Most lockerroom hazing that I've seen was popping someone in the ass with a towel, hiding their pants or throwing their uniform in the shower.
From the criminal reports, these incidents at small Texas high schools seem to center around putting foreign objects in someone's butt. In one case, it was a toothbrush. Another was a broom handle. It's unclear in the case of the La Vernia assault, it sounds like two of the players were forcing another player to perform some sort of sex act, it occurred multiple times and neither the coach or the other players interceded to stop it.
