For so many of the closeted fundamentalists...it must be too easy. I would like to think that in some cases they seduce themselves into thinking that they are not doing anything wrong...but in the end, no matter the genesis...it is only about a power dynamic and stolen innocence and childhood.

The coverage I've seen so far from NYC outlets* is leaning more toward making fun of the circus than taking it seriously -- or, at best, trying to give a straightforward account of the hearings while keeping a straight face. And there are reminders that we're among the safes big cities in the US. (Among large cities, before the pandemic I think we were safer than any other big US city except El Paso, which isn't that big.)

Brock's epiphany came with his coming out as a gay man. It's not clear whether the young men were gay or straight (most were too young to be really clear on their sexuality).

Aidan's interview said that he got out from the MAGA spell. He's like 21 or 22 now, if I recall.

One of the other guys said that he was just creeped out but the requests and ended up blocking Alexander. It's not clear whether he also moved away from the alt-right in his interview but I have only listened to part of it.

While I am sure that there are also some real life scumbag pedos out there who are not right wing...again, the common bond is a pathological lust for power and control....and it does seem as though this is more of a small 'C' conservative kink...and often tied in with a domineering patriarchical and hierarchical religious world view.
