And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

More in the "It's a small world after all" theme when it comes to anti-abortion zealots in the judicial system:

Ken Paxton ran off a slew of good attorneys and replaced them with evangelical zealots from First Liberty Institute in order to do the evangelicals' dirty work on defending anti-abortion and anti-LGBT legislation financed by Texas taxpayer funds. First Liberty is very open about their "wins" in getting the State and Federal bench filled with their candidates: https://firstliberty.org/texas/. They also have taken over the Texas Attorney General's office.

Now his staff attorneys are going "on leave" to protect the boss' corruption, adultery, bribery and other crimes, because apparently that's what evangelicals do these days.
Six top officials and employees at the Texas attorney general’s office have taken a leave of absence to help defend suspended Attorney General Ken Paxton in his impeachment trial this summer.

Those employees are solicitor general Judd Stone, the agency’s top appellate lawyer; assistant solicitors general Joseph N. Mazzara and Kateland Jackson; Chris Hilton, chief of the general litigation division; senior attorney Allison Collins; and executive assistant Jordan Eskew.

Judd Edward Stone II, the Texas Solicitor General, who has been the attorney arguing for Texas in anti-abortion cases and who frequently files amicus briefs on behalf of the State of Texas in all sorts of Federal cases involving . Mr Stone was a law clerk for Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia and conservative Appeals Court Judge Edith Jones. Prior to being appointed Solicitor General, he was the chief counsel for Texas Senator Rafael "Cancun Ted" Cruz. Mr Stone replaced Kyle Hawkins, the previous Solicitor General, who resigned after refusing to participate in Ken Paxton's efforts to overturn the election of President Joe Biden in 2022.

It is quacks like a conspiracy...

The lot of them are vile hypocrites, crooks, and liars. They had no problem with Ken until he was going to cost them a scandal. Then, my how righteous they became, and the so-called "Christians" who are running off to defend him are just as corrupt.

If that is the state of Christianity, what a farce it's become.

'Christianity' is just the false flag they carry around with them.

They are old testamentarian fundamentalists who every day pervert and weaponize their religion...as often for power and payola as for the moral causes they claim drive their zeal.

The southern Baptists are about the worst, but the right wing Catholics are marching almost lock-step.

Today in political reality:

Tommy Tubberville (R-AL), former football coach and putative Senator has been holding up over 200 Department of Defense appointee confirmations because he doesn't like the DoD's policy on abortion.
Sen. Tommy Tuberville’s (R-Ala.) national security adviser has resigned after a Washington Post story last week suggested he was largely behind the senator’s controversial hold on hundreds of military nominations, according to media reports Wednesday.

Morgan Murphy, a retired Navy reservist and former food writer who once attempted to sell a line of bacon products, told The Post he “explained all his options” to Tuberville when the lawmaker sought to stop a new Pentagon policy that helped service members access abortions.

For a week, members of the House Freedumb Caucus have been railing and threatening anarchy over the raising the debt ceiling. Yesterday, the bill raising the debt ceiling passed with 149 House Republicans voting with 165 Democrats to pass the legislation*. McCarthy has been crowing all day about his "win" but the bottom line is he wouldn't have been able to pass the bill without the Democrats.
Wednesday night, the House passed the McCarthy-Biden deal by a 314-177 vote, even winning the backing of 149 House Republicans, more than half of his conference, and the support of 165 Democrats.

*71 Republicans and 46 Democrats voted against the bill.

This is more about the handmaiden for deplorables....described as...

The captain of the Titanic steps aside. :rotflmao:

CNN CEO Chris Licht has ceded control of business operations to David Leavy, chief corporate officer for CNN’s parent company.

In Licht’s year as CEO, CNN’s ratings, revenue, and reputation have plummeted and the final straw really had to be the disastrous Town Hall with Trump.

Other comments:

"It took Chris Licht approximately 36 Scaramuccis to drive CNN into the ground like a fucking lawn dart by sticking his tongue down the back of trump’s trousers. Now he’s stepping down because everything trump touches dies. But CNN will never get those viewers he lost back. Ever."

The straw that broke the camel's back may have been this article in the Atlantic.

There seems to be a direct pipeline from reality TV to the Republican Party these days...

You are NOT the father: Former WWE star takes DNA test to prove he's not Rep. Lauren Boebert father after her mother said for years that he was
  • Lauren Boebert's mother Shawn Roberts Bentz has long insisted that retired wrester Stan Lane was her daughter's dad following a short fling in the 1980s
  • Lane, 69, took a court-ordered paternity test in 1990 which showed he was not Boebert's father but doubts over the legitimacy were raised
  • He eventually agreed to take a second test in May and the results proved he was not her father

Lauren Boebert's, who is 36 years old, doesn't know who her father is. Her mother was unmarried and 18 years old when she gave birth to Boebert. Boebert dropped out of high school and had her first child at age 18. She announced this year that her 17 year old son had knocked up his girlfriend, so the Boebert family will continue their legacy of teenage out-of-wedlock children.

Nice that her mother doesn't have a clue about who the baby daddy is...but she probably was trying to shake Bentz down and make herself more 'important' among her trash circle if she'd fucked some 'star'. In reality, Boebert's father is probably some 5 minute fuck in the women's bathroom at a bar just before closing and before the lights went up.

The whole tale is really out of a Jerry Springer episode. Her mother, who was barely legal, was banging several guys, including the professional wrestler. In Florida, of course. Lauren is from Altamonte Springs, north of Orlando. If you want to hear more about this part of Florida, watch Ginger Minj's standup act.

When the paternity issue came up years later, the wrestler took a paternity test that said he wasn't the father.

Years later, the phlebotomist who drew the wrestler's blood in North Carolina was convicted of falsifying paternity test results for another client. This put the wrestler's test results into question, which is why he took another paternity test in May which confirmed he's not Lauren's Daddy.

🤦‍♂️

Meanwhile, the newest Boebert propagator is in trouble with the law, continuing yet another family tradition...

On Monday, April 10 [2023], Representative Lauren Boebert's eldest son, Tyler, was supposed to appear in court for a mandatory review hearing related to a September 2022 car crash that left a friend hospitalized and led to a misdemeanor charge of "careless driving causing bodily harm."

That family should look into a group rate on vasectomies before those trashy genes get passed on to another generation.

The problem is...too late.

Her trash son already forgot to pull out before he jizzed inside his baby momma.

And of course, he knows he didn't have to show up...his own momma will just make the problem go away.

The Bobbert's not that competent. She'd just fuck up the corruption.

All men. All evangelical ministers. No drag queens.

Well, well, well....Can the damage be undone? I think it can, if they get the right person in charge. It can, if they go back to "Facts First", reporting the news, and calling out the lies regardless of the "side". They have to stop playing "both sides" without regard to the credibility of what is being said.

CNN Chairman and CEO Chris Licht is out [CNN]

I was watching CNN this afternoon. 17 months before the election, they're giving most of their airtime to Republican presidential candidates. I'm disgusted.

It's been disgusting for years. They denigrate the Dems - what they did to Hillary was disgusting - and pretend there is some kind of requirement to equate policy positions with outright lies and fantasy as if pointing out that lunacy is lunacy, and hate is hate, is somehow "unfair."

It's tabloidization of news, driven by grasping for profit, and everyone - even MSNBC does it to some degree. There MUST be conflict and division, and outrage and scandal - or there is no money.

That should be criminal.

Cable news is structured to keep viewers in a constant state of anxiety so that they keep watching all day long. This is all just entertainment, not journalism.

And the American viewers are suckers for it.

Although, I have no idea now why sane people keep watching CNN (FAUX Lite).

Chris Licht being fired isn't going to change their direction. He was just the marionette, not the puppet master.

Does Canada have a national standard for media?
