A woman convicted of throwing a Molotov cocktail into a Southern California bank after becoming angry over the wait for a teller was sentenced to two years in prison on Tuesday, federal officials said.

Teranee Millet, 35, threw the firebomb into a bank in Torrance following a dispute with the bank manager, the US attorney’s office said.

Millet threatened to blow up the facility after arguing with the manager and later returned to follow through on her threat, a news release from the California Department of Justice states.

She pleaded guilty in March to unlawful possession of a firearm and destructive device, according to the news release.

On a Friday morning in April, Fox News talk host Jesse Watters walked onstage to a room stuffed with hundreds of insurance executives and agents. Watters was the featured speaker at a breakfast for the Big “I” Legislative Conference, the signature annual event hosted by the Independent Insurance Agents & Brokers of America, where he was invited to participate in an interview with the organization’s retiring president, Bob Rusbuldt.

Watters, who has a history of making offensive remarks on Fox News, made a crude comment questioning the gender of Vice President Kamala Harris, the people said. The gross attempt at humor prompted some laughs, but also outrage.

Some executives, many of whom planned to attend a diversity and inclusion luncheon later in the day, squirmed in their seats as a wave of awkwardness washed over the audience. Others walked out of the room and conveyed to the trade association that they were appalled at the behavior exhibited by Watters.

“It was an epic meltdown afterward,” one of the people familiar with the matter told me. “The organization went into damage control.”

The chat between Watters and Rusbuldt, which continued on after the appalling remark, had immediate consequences. Rusbuldt, who was set to officially retire in August, apologized to those gathered at the diversity-focused luncheon later that day. But ultimately it was not enough to quell the outrage. He was later quietly sidelined from most duties at the insurance organization.

Richard Stika resigned as Bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Knoxville Tennessee after parishoners wrote a letter to the Vatican demanding his removal.

Stika is accused of covering up multiple instances of sexual assault and sexual abuse involving priests in his Diocese. Among the victims was a Honduran woman who came to a priest for grief counseling; she was locked in a room and repeatedly raped. Another incident involved a priest sexually assaulting a fourth grader.

Stika's undoing was his defense of a seminarian who raped a church musician. The seminarian was Bishop Stika's "roommate".

A lawsuit filed in February of 2022 accused Stika of failing to stop the rape of an employee and then attempting to cover up the incident. That lawsuit, filed under the name “John Doe” to protect the man’s identity, claimed a seminarian employed by the Diocese of Knoxville raped Doe at his home in 2019. Doe was listed as a musician and diocese employee...

Another lawsuit, filed under a Jane Doe, tells a similar story. Doe, identified as a Honduran immigrant seeking asylum in the United States accused a priest in the diocese of locking her in a room and assaulting her after she came to him for grief counseling in 2020.

The second suit claimed that the diocese knew about the assault and did not take any action against the priest until after he was indicted on sexual battery charges. Again, the suit said that the diocese spread rumors about the woman and tried to intimidate her by hiring a private detective who illegally obtained her employment records and accused her of employment fraud.
