Citizens United was a McConnell-Koch Brothers project. They thought that if they could unleash "Free $$$peech", the Republicans would benefit.i'm not understanding this though...the far right is still being bankrolled by some pretty dark money and I can't see either party supporting taking money out of politics at this point...they all benefit.
Then dark money poured into the McSally-Kelly Senate race in Arizona and they realized that the Democrats didn't do their usual self-righteous thing. Instead the Democrats got to work to set up their own Koch-style dark money organizations.
Now that the Republicans are seeing that they're losing races in Michigan, Pennsylvania, Nevada and Arizona, some of them have decided that they have unleased a monster.
