The organization primarily targets what it considers unlawful uses of administrative power.

Mark Chenoweth, the president of the legal advocacy group, said in statement that the organization was “delighted” that the court had sided with Mr. Cargill.

“This result is completely consistent with the Constitution’s assignment of all legislative power to Congress,” Mr. Chenoweth said. “Bump-stock opponents should direct any views at Congress, not the court, which faithfully applied the statute in front of it.”

Justice Clarence Thomas took several more trips on the private plane of GOP megadonor Harlan Crow than were previously known, a top Senate Democrat revealed Thursday.

According to information obtained by Senate Judiciary Chairman Dick Durbin, Thomas traveled on Crow’s private jet during trips in 2017, 2019 and 2021 between various US states, as well as on a previously known 2019 trip to Indonesia, during which Thomas also stayed on Crow’s mega-yacht.

A Texas bankruptcy court judge has approved the liquidation of conspiracy theorist Alex Jones’ personal assets, setting the stage for repayment to the families of Sandy Hook shooting victims.

Last week, Jones agreed to convert his personal bankruptcy into a Chapter 7 liquidation. Judge Christopher Lopez on Friday agreed to that move....

The judge said an interim trustee will be appointed to oversee Jones’ estate, as is standard in these cases. Jones’ attorney Vickie Driver told the court $2.8 million from the sale of Jones’ ranch could be sent to the trustee.

The seismic ruling paves the way for Jones to give up Infowars, the influential conspiracy empire he founded in the late 1990s. Over the years, Jones has used the media company to poison the public discourse with lies and conspiracy theories, and he also enriched himself, making millions of dollars in the process.

What happens now is that the receiver, on behalf of the Court, will begin selling off Jones' personal assets to satisfy the judgment favoring the Sandy Hook families. Texas has some weird homestead exemption laws, so the receiver can only sell off exempt items.

InfoWars is still a functioning operation but it is owned by a Jones, so the holding company that owns InfoWars is part of the personal Chapter 7 filing but InfoWars is not. The judge will not allow InfoWars to be liquidated under Chapter 7, which would be a slow and expensive process. Instead, the families can make a decision as to whether to begin seizing assets owned by InfoWars to settle the judgment. They can also make a decision as to whether to continue to allow Jones to continue producing InfoWars content or whether to shut it down.

InfoWars, like a lot of these programs, generates a lot of revenue on merchandise. These shows (including their evangelical counterparts like Jim Bakker's show) sell End Times food kits, nutritional supplements and themed clothing. If the families seize the InfoWars merchandise, they are in the odd position of having to decide whether to sell the merchandise for money or whether to destroy it.

Robert Morris, 62, the founder and senior pastor of Gateway Church in Southlake, which claims a weekly attendance of 100,000, is facing the allegations from former family friend Cindy Clemishire.

She claimed the pastor, who was also once a spiritual advisor to former President Donald Trump, abused her from 1982 to 1987, when she was between the ages of 12 and 16.

Clemishire, who went public with her accusations and revealed her identity Friday, said that Morris was a traveling preacher when she met her and her family at their church in Oklahoma in 1981.
