And Let's not forget about the other Deplorables

In which version? That's only in the Jewish and Protestant version of the Commandments. 🤦‍♂️

No version. That liar does not give a shit if anyone ever reads the Bible, the Koran, the Talmud, or the bathroom walls at the local TruckStop; all she cares about is the loud screaming from "Godless perverts and Liberals," which will cause the horde to rise to her defense. Anyone who escaped an evangelical context recognizes that ploy.

Force other people to obey your shit, be righteously indignant and martyred by the pushback, rake in the campaign dollars, - crucify, resurrect, repeat. There is nothing about the politics of evangelicals that doesn't distill down to racism, power, and money. Fuck Christ. Who the hell is that?

No version...
The point is that the State violates the Establishment clause the minute it selects one of the 3 versions of the Commandments over the other.

Once again as usual, Clarence Thomas...who really does seem determined to be an agent of chaos.

So who paid him off to dissent?

That may be your point, and it may be my point; it will not be Alito's, Uncle Thomas's, the crazy Catholic Taliban lady's, or Gorsich's. While the Frat Pig may not care about that point, he'll go along anyway, and then we all have no other point.

Someone somewhere in my reading history said that the only rights we have are the ones we can defend, and if the people taking away those rights have no hint of sanction for their blatant violations of the law, we can't defend those rights; they will be taken away.

That, in the end, is the only point.

Somebody needs to investigate the rest of his relatives.

We all need to stop thinking that the SC cares about the law. They are ruling by fiat, depending on the dysfunction of the liars and crooks in the House to defend their actions—and counting on another liar and crook to sanction their actions with overt executive enforcement.

They will try to throw the election - whatever happens to Toad. This House of Reps will abet them and then we are all fucked right up the ass. Alito will dictate, the House will not impeach, and Toad will send out the stormtroopers to enforce.

That's what happens when Democrats and the left "stand on principle" about Gaza or immigration policy, right-wing lies and disinformation, or any other distraction the right is tossing out there to obscure the fact that the people on the right elected to protect the law, are deliberately and actively trying to destroy it.

We no longer have the luxury of deciding between parties in a Republic; it's a straight-up vote for autocracy or democracy. The law is being run by people who overtly want a theocracy. That is the only law they will enforce. We delude ourselves by thinking that anything else matters to them. They will not follow the Constitution if it can't be used to force their hater god down all of our throats.

But Americans are not listening.

And most don't believe it.

Certainly the top Dems aren't hammering away about Project 2025.

It is like everyone wants democracy in the US to fail.

But what about her emails, eh?

In his heart and head Sam Alito should have joined Thomas in dissent after all Thomas used Alito’s standard that laws must adhere to our ‘history and traditions’ and since there was no domestic abuse in the 18th century no one could have been denied a gun license for slapping around his wife.

The majority instead equated the domestic abuser to a ‘dangerous person’ of the 18th century but the two would never meet way back then. As Tx-Beau is so fond of saying they just do what they want but in this case they threw the anti-gun crowd a bone.

It is so absurd that the so called 'originalists' dwell in the 18th century.

As though all the amendments that recognized how incomplete and imperfect the Constitution was, except their much beloved 2nd Amendement, never happened to drag the US into the 19th and then the 20th century.

What's absurd is that anyone actually believes that "originalism" is a thing. It has no actual philosophy and is so broadly "defined that it can mean anything. Which is the point. It's just a fig leaf for pushing Unconstitutional crap they know precedent has correctly forbidden.

OH COME ON HUFFPOST!

No need to be so coy.

...John Padora, a Democrat running against Boebert to replace Republican Ken Buck in Colorado’s 4th Congressional District, says he filmed his video in the exact seat at the Denver theater where Boebert sat in September, when she and a date were escorted out of a “Beetlejuice” musical for vaping and being disruptive...

C'mon Huffpost, You can say

HANDJOB!!!
We're all thinking it! Ya know, if that were a gay man strokin' off another gay man in a public theater in front of children on CAMERA NO LESS, there'd be police stings and public condemnations and accusations of perversions, and probably laws passed to ban Beetlejuice for being a moral hazard.

DOWN with Hetero privilege!

:rotflmao:

As the Supreme Court crams to decide on the final cases of the term, the most conservative justice on the bench has been absent without explanation//

I suppose he's off getting his briefing from Toad.

Or marching ordersfrom the militant Catholic church faction that put him on the bench in the first place.

In reality, he's likely licking the taint of his owners somewhere on a yacht...knowing that at this point, he can just phone it in.

We really need a Christoban Sharia law thread.

Some prominent conservative lawmakers and commentators are advocating for ending no-fault divorce, laws that exist in all 50 US states and allow a person to end a marriage without having to prove a spouse did something wrong, like commit adultery or domestic violence...

That any woman would vote for these people is as astonishing as any Black person voting for the Toad who sucks the cock of the Nazis.

Today's Republican Primary lesson:

If your district is rural and 75% white, you can act like a lunatic, give your boyfriend a handjob in public, become a grandmother at age 36 and have a shit show of a family life and still get elected to Congress.

Another SCOTUS decision that got missed this week is Snyder v United States.

Snyder, while the Republican mayor of Portage, Ind., received $13,000 from a local trucking company after the city bought five trash trucks from the business for $1.1 million in 2013. Prosecutors later indicted Snyder, alleging the payment was for steering business to the company.

In a 6-3 decision (guess which justices voted on each side!), the Court said that if you receive money before you do what the donor wants, it's a bribe (which is illegal). If you receive money after you do what the donor wants, it's a "gratuity" (which is not illegal).

In a sharply divided 6-3 ruling that broke along ideological lines, the conservative supermajority found that the federal law prosecutors used to convict James Snyder applies only to situations where officials accept gifts before taking government action — not to getting a reward after, which is known as a gratuity.

So, I guess we should just call this a gratuity?
