'Looters ransack Trump merch store' in Florida during Hurricane Helene

While Hurricane Helene demolished the Southeast US over the weekend looters decided to ransack a Trump merch store in Florida.

Lance Petrisevac, 57, and John Peters, 61, were arrested on Friday in Madeira Beach after cops found them lingering outside of a shopping complex.

The officers, who were patrolling the closed-off beach area due to extensive flooding, ran into the men around 9.41pm just off of Madeira Way.

They look exactly like you would expect:

...former FTX executive Ryan Salame made an unorthodox update to his profile on the site Thursday, as he began a prison sentence following the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange.


“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Inmate at FCI Cumberland!” he wrote, alongside a LinkedIn graphic of a cherry falling off a cupcake and people jumping into the air.

Salame worked for FTX, the crypto exchanged owned by Sam Bankman-Fried, who was convicted of stealing more than $8 billion. Salame "borrowed" investor money to finance his girlfriend's 2022 campaign for Congress. He then went on Tucker Carlson's show and claimed that the Feds are persecuting him because he donated to Republicans.

His lawyers got the start of his prison term delayed this summer because Salame got bit by a dog.

His lawyers tried to get another delay but the judge said that if Salame had recovered enough to appear on Tucker Carlson's show, he had recovered enough to start his 7 year prison sentence.

The girlfriend, Michelle Bond, faces her own legal troubles. She was charged in August for allegedly conspiring in an unlawful campaign finance scheme during her 2022 unsuccessful bid for a US House seat representing New York. Bond reportedly used funds from a “sham consulting agreement” between Salame and a Bahamas-based subsidiary of FTX to finance her campaign.

Nepo-bride Lara Trump has been promoting weekend "Trump flotillas" all over Florida. Facebook is full of drone videos of the flotillas with Wagnerian music playing that makes it look like they're um... "hyuge".

It's hard to know which one is in the picture but my guess is that it is the one up in Jupiter (close to where Trump's second shooter was pulled over!). The house in the background is a little too déclassé for it to be the canals down in Fort Lauderdale and Miami Beach. There's an intercoastal canal near Jupiter Island that I think they were doing a flotilla in over the weekend. The Miami Herald had some reports about there being Nazi flags, swastikas and shouts of "White power!" and "Heil Trump". No word on whether they used the occasion to load up the boats from the local meth labs and make some deliveries on the way.
