They created a narrative of persecution and victimhood that makes it very difficult to investigate these churches that have been morphed into political action committees. Now, both parties show up to give political speeches in churches and pastors show up at political rallies to endorse candidate. And Trump has promised to get rid of the Johnson Amendment that would remove their tax-exempt status.

The 29-year-old worship director from Oakwood Church in Augusta Township, Michigan, faces 11 felony counts, with charges dating back a decade.

Radcliff was arraigned on Sunday on two counts of aggravated "child sexually abusive activity," two counts of child sexually abusive activity, and six counts of using the internet to communicate with another to commit a crime. He could face up to 25 years in prison if convicted.

A California judge on Tuesday sentenced David DePape, the man who broke into the home of Rep. Nancy Pelosi, the former House speaker, and attacked her husband with a hammer, to life behind bars without the possibility of parole.

DePape, 44, had previously been sentenced to 30 years in prison for federal crimes connected to the Oct. 28, 2022, attack in the upscale Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco.

A San Francisco jury in June found DePape guilty of aggravated kidnapping, first-degree burglary, false imprisonment, threats against an elected official or their family and preventing or dissuading a witness by force or threat.
