And the Affordable Health Care Exchanges are UP

I forget to clear cookies and I got in twice with no probs. Duh.

Your post reminded me to clear my cookies and I did , of course then I had to sign in again. meh.

I just tried both Missouri and Kansas again ... no entrance.

I just tried Missouri and Kansas. No entrance -- just a spot in queue, which [to date] signals a dead end for users in my state.

^^^

Thank you. I tried several other states also ... I didn't get as far with them as I did with Missouri or Kansas.

Do we know that there are no area code restrictions for state facilitated or managed exchanges?

What do you mean by "area codes?"

Telephone system area codes.

For Jawja see Georgia Area Code Map.

Some systems may not be set up to accept an out-of-state origination.

What if I'm traveling on vacation and need to know how to plan my health coverage?

At any rate, how would telephone numbers be involved in accessing an Internet site?

Oh~ and FWIW, Georgia's Governor and Insurance Commissioner are doing everything in their power to thwart the ACA -- even beyond declining to set up a state operated exchange.

I refuse to believe that the internet hookup does not carry some location data. If Magic Mountain/Zauberberg can display my location the second I sign on I can fully believe that these sites might initially decline visits from non-state locales.

As for traveling, have not thought about it.

Opinterph ... don't get confused like Biden and get phone numbers and Internet addresses confused with each other.

I'm glad that everyone else here seems to be able to log in -- buy insurance -- etc...

It STILL won't ACCEPT my login...

I tried setting up the account ALL OVER again -- and it said that my username was already taken???

And -- I've tried under 2 different accounts (small business and individual) -- BOTH which I've ALREADY verified the email address -- MULTIPLE times...

So...

I went to CHAT for answers...

This is what I received -- without the CHAT forum to even ALLOW me to type anything...

[8:27:19 pm]: Thanks for contacting Health Insurance Marketplace Live Chat. Please wait while we connect you to someone who can help.
[8:27:23 pm]: Thanks for your interest in the Health Insurance Marketplace. Due to high call volume, all of our representatives are currently assisting other callers in completing Marketplace enrollment applications. Please keep trying, and thanks for your patience. You might have better success during off-peak hours, like later at night or early in the morning. We will continue working to improve our service so you can get health coverage! We apologize for any inconvenience.
[8:27:35 pm]: Your chat session is over. Thanks for contacting us, and we hope we've answered your questions. Have a great day.
[8:27:35 pm]: 10/3/2013

This is DRIVING ME NUTS!!!

What is it that you guys are doing to be able to gain access???

I've cleared the cookies -- went to my security settings to allow EVERYONE (in addition to the NSA) access to EVERYTHING on my computer -- and NOTHING seems to work... :(

THANKS!!!

I FINALLY got through to a CHAT rep (Lindsey) -- and this was our conversation...

[8:52:41 pm]: Welcome! You're now connected to Health Insurance Marketplace Live Chat.

Thanks for contacting us. My name is Lindsey. To protect your privacy, please don't provide any personal information, like Social Security Number, or any other sensitive medical or personal information.
[8:53:03 pm]: Lindsey
Hello, how can I help you today?
[8:55:23 pm]: Swerve
Hi -- I've set up my account and verified my email address -- but for some reason cannot get the login screen to accept my login -- can you help me with that?
[8:58:22 pm]: Swerve
I have been trying to log in for 2 days now...
[8:59:16 pm]: Lindsey
We have a lot of visitors trying to use our website right now. That is causing some glitches for some people trying to create accounts or log in. Keep trying and thanks for your patience. You might have a better chance if you wait a few days and come try again. We will continue working to improve the site so you can get covered.
[8:59:38 pm]: Swerve
Can you verify WHY the website says that my login is invalid???
[9:01:15 pm]: Swerve
Are you there???
[9:01:42 pm]: Swerve
I can give you my sign on info -- to see why it isn't working...
[9:03:25 pm]: Lindsey
I apologize for the inconvenience, but if the site is not working right for anyone, then we would not be able to find out. If you would like to fill out an application you can call our contact center and do it over the phone.
[9:04:47 pm]: Swerve
Please get the site to work properly -- America needs you to do just that -- I'm worried that MANY people will become discouraged VERY quickly...

I then asked if it was OK to post the conversation on the web...

This is what she wrote...

I can not say it is ok for you to post this on a website. You can call the contact center and they would be able to talk to you about it.

So -- am I breaking the law by posting this???

Swerve, I'd wait a month or more. I'm curious also about the cost of coverage and what is included. I'm a consumer and want the best deal.

I don't think they are ready and I would be concerned about giving out any personal information -- if they have glitches like the President says, those glitches may also include non-secured personal data collection.

I don't think you're in any trouble posting the information here or anywhere else. However, I'm not a lawyer and have never read the law (which I doubt anyone has).

All companies test their websites extensively evidently they didn't with this one.

I doubt you're breaking the law. The fact that the websites have been overwhelmed with people needing health insurance shows just what a failure the ACA is ... he says sarcastically.

They will get the glitches fixes. Everything has problems at start-up and success can have problems too. Be patient.

Well -- I wouldn't have posted the conversation if I REALLY thought that I could POSSIBLY be breaking a law...

But -- I wanted to share what FRUSTRATIONS probably MILLIONS of people are experiencing right now...

With no REAL answers...

And -- as I stated in the conversation -- I'm worried that MANY will be put off -- and NOT revisit the site later on down the road...

I spent last night reading MANY articles written by WEBSITE DEVELOPERS that explain how the genesis of LOGIC is LACKING in this website -- which is the FOUNDATION of the ENTIRE user experience...

I find myself ABSOLUTELY CONFOUNDED that President Obama could POSSIBLY ALLOW this website to NOT work -- considering that this law is his SIGNATURE ACHIEVEMENT...

ESPECIALLY since he has had 3 years lead time...

I'm disappointed -- and, although I'm a supporter of ANY positive change to our health care system -- I believe that criticism, in THIS instance, is appropriate...

Sadly...

:(:(:(

I'm thinking the right wingers are intentionally calling the line to try and throw a monkey wrench in the startup. Can't be proven yet but I'm sure there will be something exposed about it.

When I last had to call our internet provider, the gal didn't have to ask for my phone number because it was right in front of her -- she was puzzled because it wasn't the one on the account. So they can know.

Obviously, creating a denial of service would be the first tactic the Kochs would use.
