Anne Heche: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

I'm very sorry her life turned out so horrible, and that no one fought to rescue her. Now people seek to verbally piss on her grave. Give her some respect.

Why? She's dead. Respect means nothing to her anymore.

One thing about mental illness/trauma/addiction is that it saddles you with an additional burden: responsibility. Responsibility to tend to yourself and your issues as well as to not hurt those around you. This is a mighty tall order; in many cases it's nearly impossible to live up to this responsibility, especially if you don't have the resources. Heche was surrounded by wealth, fame and privilege. This woman had every resource imaginable available to her and she still fucked up and hurt someone.

Americans: money doesnt solve all your problems
Also americans: she had money, why couldn't she solve her problems?!

Money can't buy peace. That's one resource she never had access to. Her father stole it from her. You find a cure for that, let me know and we'll sell it together. 75/25 since I'll be handling marketing, testing, manufacturing, et cetera.

Sidebar: just puttin this out there college-level psych courses can provide a lot of insight into the human mind and behavior.

Knowledge > opinions

Yes but keep in mind there's a big difference between a Beverly Hills psychiatrist and an overworked social services counsellor in a basement office.

There is a huge difference between:

Having no money and having just a little money

or

having a lot of money and having a whole lot of money.

Alexa, how does trauma during childhood development impact the brain, chemistry, decision-making centers, et cetera? All the bootstraps in the world mean nothing in the realm of sexual abuse. If quasi-inspirational memes could fix these problems half our work would already be done.

Yes, I know. But believe it or not, common, worthless, insignificant people who aren't movie stars get raped by their fathers as well.

Where is their thread?

Alexa: here's something I found on the web: Ramen during child envelopment detracts the same majesty, scissor baking lentils. Would you like to buy a vintage EZ Bake Oven?

Im sure I've done one in the past and it probably sank into archive oblivion like all my threads about racial injustice.

Are we suddenly concerned about poor people being abused or using them as props in a tirade against a dead actress? Both are gross, for different reasons.

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

Are we saying then that a woman who, 40 years after allegedly being raped by her father (a claim disputed by members of her family), crashes her car into someone's house whilst high on cocaine, killing herself and seriously injuring a woman in the house, should not be considered responsible for her own actions?

My point is that it must really suck to suffer in silence from sexual abuse or trauma and then have to watch some second-rate actress get a pity party from 200 million strangers after she slammed her car into someone during a coke binge.

I'm sure being used as a talking point helps the healing process. Watching people pretend to care about you is great for the soul. Not sure how her being rich means she doesn't deserve empathy, but Im not one to look for reasons to judge others and be spiteful so this is all confusing to me.

If anybody is super concerned about victims of abuse there are orgs you can donate to or volunteer for, nobody's stopping you from being an advocate. :gogirl:

I think you and I are fighting different battles in the same war.

Yeah and I'm closer to the frontlines. It's pretty lonely when I visit my lawmakers to talk about toughening penalties for sex crimes.

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

I read and it said she was on life support and was brain dead but her heart kept going cause she was an organ donor then she died yesterday

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

It is tragic when celebrity and fragile mental health converge.

I feel so sorry for her family.

I guess we can say she's in better places now.

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

I wonder how she ended up with such a hot husband and a somewhat hot boyfriend.

You forgot the part about how for every addict, there's a group of people who enable their behaviors.

I don't know that we'll ever really know what happened immediately before the accident but there were plenty of warning signs that no one did anything about.

If you haven't seen the video, it's below. You can hear the car 10 seconds before it flies by at 90 mph in a residential neighborhood...

^You may have to watch this one on YouTube. The url is https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wwni1onpUzU

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

Because she was a so-called celebrity I imagine.

By all accounts, she wasn't the absolute train-wreck yall are making her out to be. People gravitate towards the kind-hearted, especially hot people cuz they're so used to dealing with lame trolls who only want them for their looks. So when someone comes along who isn't a terrible person it's like moths to a flame. Although yall are having fun gushing over her demons and her violent passing, the people who knew her best are mourning so somewhere along the way she did a lot of things right. That's another side effect of being a decent person, people forgive your mistakes and you're missed when you're gone.

Inversely, there's another actress who just released a book called "I'm Glad My Mother Died." Her mother was abusive and foul so she's not missed. Anne's legacy isn't her passing, no matter how hard yall try to hammer that nail.

Re: The Anne. The Coke. The Crash. The Coma

what happened that it took 59 firefighters an hour to get her out of the car
