I'm very sorry her life turned out so horrible, and that no one fought to rescue her. Now people seek to verbally piss on her grave. Give her some respect.

Why? She's dead. Respect means nothing to her anymore.

One thing about mental illness/trauma/addiction is that it saddles you with an additional burden: responsibility. Responsibility to tend to yourself and your issues as well as to not hurt those around you. This is a mighty tall order; in many cases it's nearly impossible to live up to this responsibility, especially if you don't have the resources. Heche was surrounded by wealth, fame and privilege. This woman had every resource imaginable available to her and she still fucked up and hurt someone.

or

Yes, I know. But believe it or not, common, worthless, insignificant people who aren't movie stars get raped by their fathers as well.

Are we suddenly concerned about poor people being abused or using them as props in a tirade against a dead actress? Both are gross, for different reasons.

Are we saying then that a woman who, 40 years after allegedly being raped by her father (a claim disputed by members of her family), crashes her car into someone's house whilst high on cocaine, killing herself and seriously injuring a woman in the house, should not be considered responsible for her own actions?

I'm sure being used as a talking point helps the healing process. Watching people pretend to care about you is great for the soul. Not sure how her being rich means she doesn't deserve empathy, but Im not one to look for reasons to judge others and be spiteful so this is all confusing to me.

If anybody is super concerned about victims of abuse there are orgs you can donate to or volunteer for, nobody's stopping you from being an advocate.

You forgot the part about how for every addict, there's a group of people who enable their behaviors.

I don't know that we'll ever really know what happened immediately before the accident but there were plenty of warning signs that no one did anything about.

By all accounts, she wasn't the absolute train-wreck yall are making her out to be. People gravitate towards the kind-hearted, especially hot people cuz they're so used to dealing with lame trolls who only want them for their looks. So when someone comes along who isn't a terrible person it's like moths to a flame. Although yall are having fun gushing over her demons and her violent passing, the people who knew her best are mourning so somewhere along the way she did a lot of things right. That's another side effect of being a decent person, people forgive your mistakes and you're missed when you're gone.

Inversely, there's another actress who just released a book called "I'm Glad My Mother Died." Her mother was abusive and foul so she's not missed. Anne's legacy isn't her passing, no matter how hard yall try to hammer that nail.
