Annoying Habits of Jubbers

^Excuse me? I don't understand your post. Would you mind elaborating your central point? It is too...poorly worded and unpopulated.

Really. I don't.

There's nothing to elaborate on. It says exactly what it says.

Take your time with it and practice; you'll soon get the meaning if you just put forth effort.

I hate it when an OP writes a very vague question, like "I think my boyfriend cheated on me cause I looked through his cell phone, What should I do?"...

...4 pages of 'HELP' from Jubbers later, THEN the OP responds with the REAL back story and ACTUAL details which makes the whole first 4 pages irrelevant.

WTF. Put the important info in your FIRST statement.

I definitely see that happen all too often.

No, it is too vague and misleading in many ways. I'll give you thirty minutes to stress the exact point.

ANNOYANCES, by bankside. :)
1. Failing to completely and utterly agree with my wisdom when I grace a thread with its magnificence.

2. Troll panic. "OMG you disagree with me!! You. Filthy. Obvious. Troll!!!!1!!!!!11!!one!!!"

3. I don't think I've ever reported a post about me because I thought was out of line, though I have occasionally reported posts about others that were dubious. Even then I usually first try to say something that can move a thread back on track. Mostly, I report posts where people spell out their phone numbers or something. It annoys me when other people are post-reportaholics.

4. I'm not a fan of on-topicism. Sometimes ideas lead to other ideas, and that's okay. As a courtesy I try to bring it back to the topic somehow but I like the freedom to wander.

5. Stupid gifs, particularly when they play on stupid stereotypes of people. A few can be funny but there have been times where it gets out of hand.

6. Failing to inject humour at least once in a while even in a serious topic.

7. Very rarely, overmoderation, where it might be a heated discussion and moderators have chosen to shut it down or prune things when there is still probably a chance for people to pull things back on track under their own power. Not often though and as I always say it's a volunteer thing, so if you don't like it go make your own world's largest gay forum.

8. Oh, I think I understand the comments thing btw...I have seen comments before where it might have helped the conversation to see it in the thread where other people could react to it and engage with it too, and its like "Shit. Good point. Couldn't you have just posted that in the thread?"

9. The quoting me before I'm done editing to perfection thing...

10. People Who Decide To Invent Their Own Special Way Of Writing, ans talk like dem world whole people language ans crazy.

Updates: ...
5) People that "ignore" you or for whatever reason dislike you, yet participate willingly in your threads and contribute to them and your discussions with others whenever they pop up....
But why shouldn't they participate in your threads? Why does that particularly annoy you?

There are people here whom I dislike yet will still participate in a thread of theirs if the topic is of interest to me. Perhaps it's not how other people work, I mean, I can infract you one minute and have a laugh with you the next. As far as I'm concerned having a differing opinion or a dislike of a member shouldn't stop me from interacting with them - and nor would I want them to feel that a civil discussion isn't possible with me. Life's too short for that kind of pettiness - especially on an internet message board.

I hope that you've also created a Thread in the Ask the Moderators forum so that you can tell us how you expect us to Moderate you.

I've reported the post and asked that infraction points be handed out.

Posts #99 and #100 are over the top, snitty and snarky. It's the manifested ATTITUDE that causes all the animosity (yes, animosity; not perceived animosity).

Latin phrases for my thoughts appreciated.

But why shouldn't they participate in your threads? Why does that particularly annoy you?

Because some of my threads are an extension of me. If I were to "ignore" someone, or if they simply don't give me the time of day, I wouldn't want to participate in their threads (and I don't) or talk with them. I just find it odd (rather than annoying) that people who admit a dislike for me, are so quick to participate in my discussions and acknowledge me. Just make up your mind and be consistent about it.

My experiences here suggest otherwise. But, I'm not saying it's a problem or that I'm upset about it.

AWESOME list!(*8*)

In that respect I can understand the hypocrisy involved being annoying.

Yes, there's a lot of 'sandpit' behaviour goes on here.

Some words of advice from someone who learned the hard way, over a 4-year period, about the halls of JUB. Just so you know these are all things I have been guilty of, and are not a "point fingers and judge" thing. Any finger pointing is aimed at myself, but I'm noticing some patterns in others that I might be helpful in giving advice for.

1. Always remember, this site is meant for thousands of gay men, and a handful of women, to look at and discuss porn. Therefore, they come here horny, silly, and with one goal. Importance of this bit of advice: serious discussions are not meant for the halls of JUB. Inevitably someone will post a dick, flirt incessantly or post some weird gif image to get you to stop the topic from being so dramatic and serious. You cannot control what a thread does once it is in place. Mods are here to make sure people aren't being bullied. And to ensure JUB is running within the rules set up by the Internet police and their own Code of Conduct. Not to ensure your topics stay on point.

2. Gay men spend 95 - 100 percent of their lives being judged by someone. Family, friends, society. They come here to lose themselves and forget those judgements. Starting threads telling them what you don't like about them doesn't make you any friends. Instead of calling people out for their "annoying habits," privately roll your eyes and participate in threads that do not include those habits. If every single thread has them, rethink your desire to be a part of the boards. Being judged by your own peers is even worse. So think before you bitch.

3. Every thread will turn into two or three people flirting and going way off topic. Once again keep in mind, this site was built on porn. And this place has a ton of people roaming around at any given time. It's hard to get it running just the way everyone wants it to be. We need to adapt. And if we can't, we need to decide if we're suited for a place such as this.

4. An Internet forum is not the place to form real and true relationships. Interact outside the walls of JUB and you might find the people who do annoying things might actually be not so annoying in reality.

Just have fun. Don't worry if every topic goes wrong, or people get snippy. It just means they don't want to talk about that particular thing. We're all annoying in some way or another. Figure out how to deal. And try to remember, this place isn't all that serious. We're all just a bunch of weirdos.

ooh a nice read

be kool schools or whateva real time figure it when babas spit out save Internet 1 folkys ans Co lot da waste of skin of feet

Exactly. I don't understand we have to be mean to each other all the time. Whatever happened in that thread, stays in that thread. Unless there is some kind of consistent hostility, you don't to be a dick in every thread with that person.

People shouldn't take disagreements at JUB very seriously.
Oh, you'd know about consistent hostility, wouldn't you, you garbage-guzzling pot-bellied porker? Your most annoying habit is your insistence on carrying out metabolic functions.

Love you like a cold sore!

As for the rest of the tramps on these boards, I'm sick and tired of people ignoring my requests for tittage. Centex, I'm looking at you. I've heard about those double D's of yours.

If you desire looking at a boob, wouldn't your mirror suffice?

Some words of advice...

...Just have fun...

...We're all just a bunch of weirdos.

^ Best advice I've yet heard on these fora. :=D:

(I hope you don't me distilling your post down to a dozen or so words, stacy.)

^^Agreed. Possibly the wisest thing I've seen written on this site:=D:

Thanks for this post, Stacy.

I will say about point number 2, that I am not really saying I dislike the Jubbers themselves, as gay men. That would be ridiculous, because I would be in effect targeting myself, so I'm surprised you framed it that way. My "annoying habits" could really be applied to anyone anywhere on an internet forum with JUB's layout, regardless of sexual orientation or gender. It's not particular to gays any more than it's particular to JUB.

Wow, this thread is so hot I gotta do this

If people are annoying you that much then chances are you are taking it all too seriously. Trust me, I have before and it was a waste of my time and energy.

You know what Elvin.... You annoy me. What, with your good looks, sense of humor, and down-to-Earth attitude, it just gets annoying! I'm annoyed you keep refusing to give me your digits. Bastard!

Annoyed

You annoy me for being so intelligent, so well spoken, so fucking goodlooking and your dark hair and features and your body and your career and the fact that you are so well travelled. There, I said it.

Digits? PM, bitch.

Oops, I am sure we're annoying someone right now. lol

Well now I'm annoyed someone else would get annoyed, even though our annoyances are very much "on topic" as the title itself says "Annoying Habits of Jubbers". Sooooo annoying! :grrr:
