In the last hour, Christchurch has been hit by it's 2nd major earthquake in 6 months. This one was 6.3 on the richter scale but was much shallower than the one in September last year. Buldings are down ... injuries ... things are not quite known yet ... pictures just coming through on the tele. Major. Luckily, I'm in the north island and didn't feel it. People of the city traumatised.
You've heard it first on JUB !

Oh that's awful news!!

:(

I hope the damage is not too bad

What is worst Chat, is that the people were just getting back to normal after the first quake and now this one comes along with much worse damage and consequences to really put the boot in.

OMG! I've been to Christchurch twice, I really liked the Cathedral, it'd be a shame if it is completely damaged.

And of course the people, I met wonderful people from there, such a shame. One of my ex was originally from there (thou he was living in Wellington now)

Good to hear that you're in the N.I. and safe!

This makes me scared. I spent quite a bit of time there. Wishing everyone the best and so sorry for all the death, damage and loss.

Woh! Hadn't heard...sorry to hear the news and I hope everyone stays safe..

People are trapped in buildings. We're calling on the Aussie's for help for specialist search teams. Thanks Aussies. ..|

OMG! that's terrible. I hope you are safe, justaguy! My thoughts are with you and the rest of your countrymen!

I've just seen some pictures online. Keeping everyone in my thoughts. Hoping for the best.

65 confirmed dead. They say there are still 200 people trapped in buildings.
I'm fine MTLDude. I didn't even feel the quake in the part of the country I live.

I can only hope that 65 is where the death toll will stay.
Thoughts go out to everyone affected by this.
