I remember the accusations on the local news a few weeks ago, the story was more about Carletha Cole's criminal charges and the "seeing the Lt-Gov. and her top aide" accusation was only mentioned in passing.

I didn't know about the lesbian comment from Lt-Gov. Carroll though.

Listen Chance. We allow members to use whatever source as they deem appropriate. White Eagle has chosen to consistently utilize Alternet because he likes them. I have no issue with his choice. If you've got a beef with the facts contained in his cites, please refute them using another cite from a source you feel to be legitimate.

Simply denigrating a news source as biased doesn't really move the discussion down the field. And I would say the same to those who denigrate more conservative sources as well. That's only fair.

Isn't there a difference between a news source and a site that filters "news" from legitimate sites and then adds their unique spin?

For example -- I often read The Daily Caller and the Daily KOS, but would not consider them a news source -- both are very plainly a collector and publisher of opinions. I see Alternet in the same vein.

If we continue down the path of seeing sites like Alternet, The Daily Caller, Daily KOS as legitimate news sources aren't we robbing ourselves and others of true information.

The point I'm making is that we need to separate opinion from news. Some people have the intellect and/or street smarts to do that -- some do not.

Actually I look for other links before I use Alternet just to stop the ridiculous BS that some here spew. Much like Fox news.
