Anthony's Odyssey

Glad to hear things are getting slightly better on your side of the state. Here on the southwest side we are actually in need of rainfall we are down about 3 inches so far with no rain in the forecast either. I am not brave enough to peer into the abyss known as CE&P yet. Hahahaha

Brian

Anthony I read some of your thread I couldn't read it all as the people posting replies seem to only want chaos. You were reasonable with your posts that I read. I believe going to the CE&P is a Once and Done thing for me entirely too many haters on both sides for me to handle.

Glad some things are getting back to normal or close to it on your side of the state.

Our weather has been Hot, Humid, and Dry. The yard is turning brown and we're watering the garden nearly every day. Hardly any rain and none is expected for maybe another week. In 1999, Harrisburg set a record of 11 straight 90+ degree days. 92-95 is forecast for each day this coming week. We may challenge that record by next weekend. Our garden looks decent except for our tomato stalk. The deer have ravaged that. I cut off our first zucchini today, and the pepper and watermelon plants are getting lots of blossoms. The deer, usually a party of 5, have been munching on our flowers lately. I guess with the dry conditions they are looking for something more succulent.

I remember someone saying, "The more we think we know, the more we realize we know even less." Our corona virus backslide made me think of that. If we had any overall confidence in what our politicians and media tell us, we probably wouldn't be in the predicament we're in. I swear I'm going to bitch slap the next person who tells me there are no politics at play in this. And that also goes for the "peaceful protests" that have been exploited.

My anxiety has been elevated with all the insanity that has been going on, and Randy told me I need to stop watching the news or I'll drive myself crazy. So, I've turned to an old reliable friend: Music. I've been listening to a lot of blues, jazz, and hard rock. Randy and I recently watched part of a Ken Burns series about Country Music on PBS. I didn't realize that artists like Ray Charles and Elvis Presley had impactful connections to country music. I learned a lot about country music. Patsy Cline had one of the most incredible singing voices. It sucks that she died in a plane crash at age 30. I've also watched Bluebloods, and some old sitcoms from the '70s, Sanford&Son and Barney Miller. I'd never seen Barney Miller before. That was a funny show.

As crazy as things have become, I see some hope around here. Wherever I've gone lately everyone has been cheerful and respectful to each other. Wearing masks hasn't been an issue. Masks have now been made mandatory by the Emperor for employees and customers at all businesses in PA. Anyone who refuses to abide could be arrested for defiant trespass. We've come to this.

I just watched the awesome Macy's fireworks show from NYC on NBC. Hopefully, we'll get to celebrate next year if America still exists by then.

Good to hear from you Anthony! Sorry to hear your anxiety has been bad. I know the feeling and I hope less news watching helps. Music is always good for when you aren't feeling great.

Sorry about all the hot weather, Anthony. It has rained almost every day here for the last couple of weeks and now I see we have a possible depression brewing in the Gulf of Mexico we need to be concerned about later this coming week. Forecast is rain for the next few days again. Luckily it clouds up in the late afternoon then showers us. Everything is extremely green here for sure.

Looking at old TV shows and listening to music, especially like the artists you mentioned tells us a lot abut who we were back when. It's always fun to look back especially when you're depressed about looking forward. Here's hoping there are better days ahead and we get there soon. Hang in there. Find great people to talk to and share with. Your friends are great and you've had some great sharing with them also in many ways. Always fun to be with friends. BC

Same thing here...just exclude the humidity (luckily in the teens-percentage is pretty normal here on hot summer days) I too have to water the garden nearly every day. I believe we are officially in a drought here now.
(yesterday we got a brief thundershower which was nice to see)

He has a very good point! take some time away from the news if its causing anxiety.

I simply sat outside & watched the neighbor's fireworks. They must have spent quite a bit on that stuff.
(I lit off a small amount of my own, but just small/simple things)

Oh and crank that ACDC up good stuff there!

Anthony!

I've been debating if I should open my big yap since first seeing your post. Sorry, but this is too important ...

Yes. It would be great if we could have confidence in what our leaders, and media, tell us. I can personally recall a time, not all that long ago, when we could. That has certainly fallen apart, along with a lot of other important things. These days it's best to double/triple verify any, and all, sources. It has become undeniably apparent that a certain given faction is completely off the rails. Unfortunately, they currently have the biggest, loudest, bullhorn, that they're using to blast all of us with boatloads of bull, and "alternative facts". I am totally flabbergasted, given all of the Evidence that is contrary to their rantings, that Anybody (like the anti-maskers) believes any of them anymore.

The virus is Science. There shouldn't be anything political about it at all. It doesn't care. However, a certain "politician" has insisted on putting his fat, spray-tanned, thumb on the scales, hugely. Not only has he undermined his own scientists, he's incited resistance to his own "administration's" guidelines and advice. He's encouraged those who listen to him to defy all efforts to control the pandemic. Now they're insisting on their "individual freedoms" over common responsibility, and, indeed, duty, to protect our fellow countrymen. And, you're wondering why Emperor Wolf had to resort to enforceable mandates, for something as simple, easy, and effective as face coverings, in the interests of public safety?

Yeah. We have come to that. And, we need to change it Bigly in November, if we're still around. The good news is, most of the rest of the world is doing pretty well. We're only 4-5% of this planet's population. Humanity is going to survive this. They listened, went with facts, did what they needed to do, and now they're all freer to go back about their lives than we are. I'm sure you're aware that Canada and Mexico have closed their borders to us, and the EU has a travel ban on us. Talk about ironic. I have to admit I see some dark humor in that.

Yes. The news here is terrible. If it's raising your blood pressure, I agree with Randy. Limit your exposure. You and Kev have something in common. I have to talk him off the ceiling at least once a day, if not more often.

Speaking of science vs. politics, enjoy the weather. Just another tiny little global concern. At least you're getting outdoors, which is a very good thing.

Take good care of your plants, Mom, and You!

Luv ya, bud!! (*8*)

Here on the southwest side of the state we have the same weather you have Hot, Humid and Dry. We do get the occasional scattered shower now and then. I've noticed when I walk on the grass I can hear it crinkle under my shoes. Glad to see you post again I was getting a little concerned something had happened to you.

Brian

Anthony, hoping all is well with you, your Mother and your friends. I'm hoping you haven't decided to stop writing you're stories as you are a talented writer.

I suspect events went to the dark side of life for Anthony, as I just noticed he is no longer an active member.

I am so sorry that Anthony left our community. But he did get so much vitriol and hatred for just trying to enlighten himself. Looks like it was more than he could handle. I really enjoyed reading about his adventures into the gay culture...I was/am so jealous that he had so many experiences in a short period of month. Very jealous.

I tried reaching out to Anthony a few times by pm but got no response. I miss hearing from him and will miss his posts. I don’t know if he will read this but I am sad he left Jub and wish him well.

I reached out also, months ago. No response to me also. I'm hoping he will return someday and just ignore the haters that believe there is no way but their way.

I wonder if Anthony and his partner still have their Pornhub channel....... ........that's gone too....... :(
