AntiVirus 2010 PLEASE make it go away!

well......NOW I don't know if you read my FIRST post here:

It DOES appear you have nothing to lose:

http://www.combofix.org/download.php

It didn't work.

I downloaded it, installed it. No problem.

Tried to use it and I got a blue screen with a warning asking me if I wanted to proceed. I typed Y and went on. The screen went blue and said it was performing a scan. About 3 minutes later it disappeared back to my desktop the only thing that happened was my icons were gone.

I still can't use any of my virus protection stuff. The scans just stop working and they disappear off the screen. I do have this annoying ass program using up all my stuff though.

Jqsnotify***** there is like 20 of them running...

e__e grr...

sometimes you have to use combofix a few times in a row.
but trust me .. reinstalling is your best option.

I've used combofix and malwarebytes about 90 times in a row. They both get to the point where they want to start scanning then it scans for 6 seconds and stops. It just blinks off.

I got braviax and antivirus 2010 out but I still can't run any virus killin stuff.

=( damn computers.

Go to the link below to download the free version of SuperAntiSpyware. Install, update, and run. Let it fix whatever it finds.

http://www.superantispyware.com/downloadfile.html?productid=SUPERANTISPYWAREFREE

IF that nets you any results then try re-installing Malwarebytes Anti-Malware again, update and run the quick scan & Fix.

Do the same with Spybot S&D.

Reboot into Safe Mode and perform a FULL scan with each program.

Reboot into normal mode and do a FULL scan with each program.

Your computer is NOT toasted, it can be fixed. Its just going to take some time and patience. You have to decide how much time and energy you want to devote to fixing it versus a wipe and re-install.

You can remove the programs that you found. But once a machine has been compromised and fucked up that much you can never fully trust it again. There are enough virii and other malware out there that are not recognized by scanners.

Compromised machine = reinstall.

Thank you, I'll try it now. It's going on 3 days so I'm pretty damn dedicated. I'm surprised I got this far. I feel so close and yet so far away.

** yeah, that program wouldnt even come on. blahblahblah administrator has stopped it something blah.

goddamn virus.

=/ great way to stay optimistic. meanie.

New problem:

Something is preventing me from...

- installing any antivirus program (AVG, Avast, Norton, Combofix, Spyware Doctor, Hijackthis, S&D, Windows Defender)

- running regedit

- running system restore (not like it helped the first time anyways..)

and firefox wont let me upload pictures anywhere.

e__e; why do I feel like this is almost over with but not ?

Uh oh... that what was happening with my laptop before I got it whiped. Can you open any programs? Mine was so band, it wouldn't let me run anything besides Internet Explorer (which was the only web browser I have)

I can run pretty much everything perfectly. Firefox is a tad slow but its not unbearable. I just cant run or install any virus stuff. I have this mcafee toolbar thingy working though. Its blocking naughty stuff on the interwebs.

How long will you go on to
a) endanger your own privacy and data further
b) endanger other computers because of the malware and spam that your machine is spreading now
before you realize that you need to reinstall?
You tried the other stuff - it doesn't work. YOU do NOT have any control about your machine anymore. It's not like multiple people have told you already now .. but you don't listen.
Reinstall - it's inevitable, and I hope nobody here will support you further in the worthless tries of fixing this other - if the extra-removal tools are not working anymore, you are beyond repair.

I'm not mean, I just have dealt way too often with crap like that on other people's machines.

You might try this as well...

If none of this helps you then you need to visit a spyware/malware removal help forum. Here are a couple but there are plenty of others. Be sure to read and follow all the "Sticky" posts and instructions first.

I believe this thing some times goes by the name Trojan ZlobG, when it tricks you warning you of a problem and wanting to install the anti-virsus software , which is the virus.
Likely there are many different Trojans that open this same virus however ZlobG was a major problem earlier this year even though its the same old Ukraine Russian crap.
Point is you might run a search for Trojan ZlobG and see if this looks like your problem.
If so there are sites, and information on how to remove it. I don't have the links anymore.

I have not done this, but you might try getting a "live" Linux antivirus CD (or downloading the ISO and burning to a CD yourself). then boot with that live Linux cd and see if it can clean your hard drive. there are several versions (or distributions or distros if you like) that do antivirus stuff here is a web site that discusses some of them. it also provides you a link to where you can download and then burn the ISO images.

luckily for me I dont have any of the windows discs...

*sulks*

WELL then.......even if YOU don't have the disc.......is there a product key on the label of your computer? THAT'S all you need. Borrow a Windows disc from anybody.
Even if the original disc was tied to the hardware it won't make any difference now. The only thing that matters is a "legal" product key.

While combofix DID save me from doing an OS reinstall.......it only put if off for a while. The OS was damaged in the repair as some things just never acted the same afterward.....the main one being networking.....and that's a biggy.
Borrow a disc.......bite the bullet.
If you are THAT infected the only thing you are going to accomplish is perpetuating the infection.
Don't take any shortcuts......chose the most thorough format option available to you.

I can say for sure that MalwareBytes WILL remove this. AV2010 will just try to block it. So all you need to do is rename mbam[dot]exe to mbam.com and it will work. We've had computers in for repair with it at work and that is all you need to do. Maybe do it in Safe Mode too.

Did one on Friday and it took 1 full scan in safe mode and it was gone.
