Anyone else care for William & Katherine's baby?

If it`s a girl then the name might be complicated by the fact that some other female heirs to European thrones have names popular with the House of Windsor : Victoria (Sweden) Alexandra (Norway) Elizabeth (Belgium, I think) That doesn't rule out any of these names completely, of course, but it does make them a less likely choice. I hope they don't call her Diana, that would be just too fucking morbid. My choices would be George for a boy and Georgina for a girl....sorted.

Probable heirs to the throne are usually given names of prior monarchs. In girls that would mean: Mary, Elizabeth, Anne or Victoria. Mary seems like the best bet to me.

I absolutely do! I can't wait for the news! I have a feeling like everyone else it'll be a girl but of course ill be happy either way!

I predict, for a boy: Charles Arthur William Phillip. For a girl, Mary Elizabeth Diana. Boys usually get 4 names, girls 3.

On further consideration, they probably will include Kate's father's name, so, Charles William Michael Phillip.

I was thinking Caroline....wife of George II and a more posh version of Kate`s mother`s name, surely the Middletons` would be given some consideration, when it comes to names? Another outsider is Charlotte, wife of George III and the name of George IV`s only child who died when she was 21 and had she lived, would have been Queen instead of Victoria....actually on second thoughts, we could probably add Charlotte to the Diana morbidity factor.

Never happen , she was The Cathlolic Queen also known as The burning Queen , for her habit of throwing Anglicans onto fires .

I should be excited because I'm Canadian, but I'm extremely disinterested in babies and my sister's going to be popping one out in about 6 months so that's taking up all my "caring about babies" right now.

Definitely this.

I could actually see Anne. But not Victoria. And not Elizabeth. Diana might get a mention in the string of name salad that the kids get saddled with.

Mary I was Catholic, but Mary II, co-monarch with William III, was strongly Protestant. She and Bill were invited to invade to save the land from her Catholic father, James II.

The Windsor girls tend to get saddled with obscure european names… Eugenia anyone?

I'm betting on a nod to Wills' gramps, with "Philippa" or something unwieldy like that. I'd be happy with Elizabeth Katherine Diana.

Yes, but making her legal name "Victoria Elizabeth Mary, you know Mary, the protestant one who married her cousin, Eugenia Wilhelmina Louisa Mountbatten Windsor" will get her teased on the playground.

I'm hoping it's a boy as that will shut up the lesbians who continually drone on about equal rights for girls.

Ahh , now i see what all this marching up and down and the battle of the boyge and oh yeah "Orangemen" please daddy , dont try and teach a Scot especially a Glaswgian Scot about William of Orange , a bit like trying to teach your granny to knit...#-o

Mention the name Mary for Queen and a huge percentage will automatically think CATHOLIC QUEEN MARY , so as i said before never happen .

Was`nt the Queen`s Granny, Queen Mary? sounds perfectly acceptable to me. Also, judging by @Rareboy`s posting, Queen Anne was a bit of a looker, in her younger days.
