Good Saturday morning Frankie and Paul! (*8*) :kiss:

I have tons of mangos on my tree, and they're getting ripe, and yes, unfortunately, many are going bad before I can use them. We've been having rainy and stormy weather all week, and a big storm blew a whole bunch on mangos off the tree. I had to go out the next morning, collecting mangos off the ground in buckets, boxes, and bins.

Hope everything is going well for all of you this weekend.

Have you ever tried getting them inside the fridge ( veggies bottom case ) I've put them there when they were almost ripe and I made them last for longer
You could also try giving some of them away to neighbors or acquaintances ...

Mangoes can be made into jam, I never did myself but I tasted it and it was excellent. Maybe in combination with some other fruit.

Well, Frankie and Paul, I did give away a few mangos to people. As for refrigerating them, I'm getting so many fresh mangos off the tree right now that it wouldn't be worth it. That's something I might do toward the end of the bearing season to make the final part of the crop last longer. As for making jam, that's a good idea, but I just don't have the patience. Some people make chutney out of the green mangos, which would also use them up. Again, I don't have the patience for it.

One thing I have done in the past is to freeze mangos. You just chop them up and bag them, or you can puree them before freezing, and use it to make ice cream later.

The ice cream sounds like a good idea. We don't grow mangoes here, but people have similar problems with lemons, peaches, pears or whatever.

Well, I did give away a few mangos to neighbors today, and I'll probably take some more to MCC tomorrow. There was another big storm today that blew more mangos off the tree. They make a loud bang when they hit the side or the roof of the house. I'll have to collect them later when the rain stops. I think I'll chop some up and freeze them to eat later, and maybe I'll puree some and freeze them, and give them to my local Rare Fruit Council when they have their ice cream festival in the fall.

I finally got to meet the dentist for coffee, he seems like a nice guy. He just came back from a Mediterranean cruise, and was showing me a bunch of pictures. We're going to meet up again for lunch and a movie on Thursday. He sent me a dick pic and wanted to see mine. I finally relented and took a picture for him. So we'll see how it goes.

Well, I managed give some more mangos away to some neighbors, and I took a bunch to MCC on Sunday morning for the church goers. There's still a bunch of them left though, and there's so much more fruit on the tree that isn't even ripe yet. So there's probably going to be another surge of them.

I saw the slutty dentist yesterday at a coffee clatch, and I got to see him in action in a group. It turns out that he's a real social butterfly, going around and talking to lots of other people. I guess I should be ready for him to share lots of his time with other people, if I get involved with him. We're supposed to meet later this week. He says he wants to have an exclusive relationship with someone, but I get the feeling it's going to be a "one and done" proposition if I end up sleeping with him. We'll see.

I'm still getting tons of mangos from my tree. On Friday night I took some to my local Rare Fruit Council meeting for their tasting table. They were served along with about 5 other types of mangos other people brought in.

Well, I'm not sure what's going on with my dentist friend. He keeps saying he wants to get together and texting me, telling me what he wants me to do to him. But when the time comes to get together, he always has excuses, as in he needs to get the AC in his car fixed, or he has to wait for a call to get his house AC fixed, or he has to wait for a repairman to fix a leak in his roof... well, you get the idea. I'm beginning to think he just likes to flirt more than actually getting together with me. Hmm... :confused:

Oh, I see. This dentist guy is a player. I've met some guys like him: they fantasize about you, about the things you could do together, the great sex you could have... and the fantasy itself is more important than the reality. When they are finally able to meet you can have a good time, then start over again with the fantasies. I fell very hard for a guy like this and it was painful :(
