Billy, I thought I saw that Orlando is in a heat advisory today. Make sure you stay cool! We don't have one here, but it's still quite hot. Rain and thunderstorms are supposed to return here Sunday and Monday, it should be a relief from the heat.

Gary, I hope you're staying out of the heat, and entertaining yourself at home. California summer weather seems a little strange. It'll be 72 degrees in San Diego on the coast, and 115-120 in the deserts just east of there. Hope you have a good pew day tomorrow.

California has a wide verity of climates. San Diego has an ideal Mediterranean one, while a few miles inland, the Mojave Desert is an oven during the summer and can freeze in the winter. Mt. Whittey is the tallest mountain in the lower 50, but only a few miles East is Death Valley, the lowest, where 137F was recorded. Are you having the heat that Billy is?
 
It's been hot and humid here, but not quite as bad as Billy is having in Orlando. It gets uncomfortable, but I live close enough to the ocean that breezes usually keep us from getting the worst of it. Orlando is inland, so it can really heat up there. Most of Central Florida has a heat advisory, but we don't have one here.

I was out in California several years ago, in October, and the weather didn't exactly go the way I was told to expect. It was cold in SOCAL, warm in San Francisco, and I even saw snow in the higher Sierra Nevada. I enjoyed being out there.

I had a good day yesterday. Nice and relaxing. And it finally poured about midnight.

There was a coffee clatch at my local GLCC, so I went, and I went to the usual gathering of the guys in the park today. It was actually pleasant, being on the water with a good breeze, and a little less humidity than last week.

I had a friend that called me today. Usually we go out to the same places, but he stayed home today because he was feeling sick. He sure didn't sound good. Actually, I've been having a sort of low-grade cold in the past week or so. We were talking last Thursday. I wore my mask, but I took it off while eating. I hope I didn't give what I have to him!

Billy, it's been dry here for the last couple of days, but the National Weather Service is starting to make noises like they're concerned we might get too much rain on Sunday. :eek:

My cold seems to be getting better. It hasn't stopped me from doing my usual routine, other than I've given up yard work for the last few days. The OTC cough medicine I bought yesterday seems to help. I was having that "tickle cough" which doesn't seem bad, but it would make me stop what I was doing for a couple of minutes. But I'm feeling pretty good this morning.
