Lol! Return to Oz falls in a bit of a weird place since it's kind of a sequel to the 1939 classic (particularly the use of the ruby slippers and having people in Kansas mirror those in Oz), but it draws the bulk of its source material from the L. Frank Baum books (which I also highly recommend). It was a major flop when it was released, but fortunately it's gained a strong cult following since. I'd personally love to see a live-action adaptation of the book The Wonderful Wizard of Oz. It's long overdue imo.
