Araucaria Appreciation Thread

Good Friday morning Billy, Andrew, and Paul! (*8*)

Billy, I hope your kitchen appliance replacement project is going well. As for me, I just sort of decided that I'm holding off on the whole washer installation business until I'm good and ready to deal with it again.:-)

I'm glad you're getting rain up in Orlando. It has gone back to being mostly dry down here. We had a few hit-and-miss (mostly miss) showers around yesterday. It rained just enough to get the pavement damp, but not enough to do the lawn and garden any good.

Good Friday Afternoon John (*8*)

I hope you are doing well and will have a wonderful weekend.

We are suppose to get rain again today.

Happy FRIYAY John! (*8*)

Good Sunday morning Billy, RM, Gary, and Michael! (*8*)

Billy, our Gators beat Utah last night, though it was a nail-biter! (!w!)

RM, send that man over here, so he can make mad, passionate love to me. *|*:bj::sex::hump:

Gary, I hope you got your washer delivered yesterday, and all is working well. Your fly problem is a bitch!

Michael, I hope all is well with you. Look forward to seeing you on here later.

I've had no rain here for the last several days. Note to self: Water the plants today.

Good Monday Afternoon John (*8*)

The Gators sure were trying to keep the blood pressure up during the game. Our next game is 7PM next Saturday against Kentucky.

I hope you have a great new week.

Good Wednesday morning, Christian and Billy! (*8*)

Christian, send that man right over!*|*:fellate::69::sex:

Billy, hope everything's OK with you. It has been hot, muggy, and dry all week. I guess I'll have to water the plants again today. The rain chances increase for Thursday and Friday, so hopefully I'll get a good soak for the garden.

Good Wednesday Afternoon John (*8*)

Doing OK but tired.

I hope you are well. We have not had any rain at the house the last 2 days but it is suppose to rain the rest of the week.

Have a great weekend John! (*8*)

Good Saturday morning Billy, Paul, and RM! (*8*)

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I have a rant about someone doing bad genealogy, who apparently has a lot more money than sense. I'm talking about a family of my ancestors who had four children who died and were buried in unmarked graves, "except for four huge cedars," as a family researcher put it in a letter back in 1975, which I still have. Mind you, this happened in the mid 19th Century, in a frontier area which was still being settled, so records were scarce. Specifically, that means that the precise birth and death dates of all four children are unknown. This family line has been well-researched.

BUT yesterday I came across someone on ancestry.com, who has recently bought several grave markers with the children's names, and birth and death dates. And guess what? They have given NO SOURCES for any of their information! You just don't do genealogy like that! :grrr: OK, OK, maybe I need to calm down, and if I can figure out who did this, send them a nice inquiry, asking them politely the source of their information. Who knows, maybe an old Bible showed up or even old cemetery records were found. It's rare, but those things are known to happen. But it seems this person bought the grave markers, posted it on ancestry, and put the pictures on find a grave, none of it with any sources. So there's nothing but circular citations going on here. And furthermore, what little documentation I've been able to find contradicts the information on the grave markers. One weird thing they did was to put both the two boys' names on one grave marker, with a single birth and death date, no distinguishing between the two. Huh?

Sorry for the rant, but I guess I'm annoyed that someone has put info out there that could be wrong. It's one thing if it's just online, where people can dispute it or disregard it. But people take information on grave markers and tombstones as gospel, though they are known to contain errors.

Oh well.

 Hi John, I don't blame you man, I'd be pissed too if someone didn't do the correct fact checking before they put any information out there that may not be truthful. Despite that I do hope you get to enjoy the rest of your weekend. (*8*)

Good Monday afternoon, Christian and Billy! (*8*)

Christian, send that dude right over!*|*:bj::sex::hump:

Well Billy, our Gators couldn't pull it off on Saturday.
I guess it's back to earth.

We finally got a big deluge on Friday. They're predicting rain all week. We'll see.

Good Tuesday Afternoon John (*8*)

I hope you are doing well today. We have been getting rain regularly for the past week and it is thundering right now.

Good Thursday morning Billy, everyone! (*8*)

Well, so how does everyone like the new format? It looks a bit different, but I've generally been able to do just about everything I want to do. I haven't tried to post any pics or songs yet, but I don't anticipate any problems.

Good Thyrsday Afternoon John (*8*)

So far I like it. There are a few things I need to learn about the site.
