Well, the summer of things breaking down and needing to be repaired/replaced continues. I had to buy a new microwave today because the old one suddenly broke down. I went to Home Depot, but everything they had was $200 plus, and the guy said they could get one to me by Thursday. Something told me to check Target. There they had a bunch of microwaves on display, and the prices were much cheaper, and on top of that, most were on sale. So I ended up walking out with a microwave on sale for $70, down from the regular price of $100.

I finally am having success with my guava tree, which is only shrub size. It is finally bearing fruit for me. It was labeled Star Ruby, which made me think it had red or pink flesh, which I generally find tastier and sweeter than the white variety. It turns out that the fruit is tasty, but is more like a pink blush, as if it's a cross between a pink and a white variety. I like the fruit, but I wonder if it was mislabeled at the nursery (I've heard stories of that happening).

Waiting for the tropical storm to arrive. You must be used to big storms in Florida, but we haven't had anything like this since 1939. So far just light rain and reduced temperatures. Yesterday at this time it was 115F here. Today 78. :biggrin: Starting tonight and into Sunday is when we will be hit hardest.

Well, today the contractor is supposed to visit and give me an estimate on replacing the front and back doors of my house. But you know how contractors are. Still, I'll have to stay home all day waiting for him.

I think I'll fertilize my fruit trees this morning, at least the small ones. It's about time for that. It is not quite as hot as it has been, so I'm trying to do some minor garden work in the early mornings and evenings. All through July and August until this week it has been so hot that I just haven't felt like doing anything outdoors.

I'm supposed to go out for lunch and a movie with my dentist friend. It seems that we're not meeting up quite as much, like maybe once a week. And I ran into someone else yesterday telling me not to get my hopes up for a relationship with that guy. The dentist says he has been having health issues, and that may be part of it, but he's also having other things come up, and it's like he's waiting until he can get around to me. The thing is, if you want to be with somebody, you make time.

I visited my dentist friend both Wednesday and yesterday. On Wednesday we spent time in the bedroom, went out to see Barbie, which is a hoot, and then back to his place for more time in the bedroom. And then he invited me over again for more time in the bedroom, only he complained that he felt tender "down there," probably from the day before, and ended our session. Then he got involved with phone calls and trying to get his insurance to pay for something, and I left early while he went out to the library to make copies. OK, fine and good, but my thinking is that if doing sex one way isn't working, you don't have to just end it. You can cuddle, or do things like oral or mutual masturbation, or hang out and talk. Hmm...

Well, the guy came by on Tuesday to measure my door. He said they could only do the front door, because my back door is attached to a wood wall, which doesn't meet local hurricane code (I never thought about that). He said they'd get back to me with an estimate for replacing the front door in a couple of days, but I haven't heard back from him yet.

When he started making those calls, did he even say anything like "Okay with you if I make some calls to take care of this stuff?" I mean, you two are still at the phase where you qualify as a guest in his home, so just starting calls like that, especially after throwing you out of bed, seems rude.
 
Hello Johnnie , first of all thanks for writing to me , I am almost recovered from the throat and coughing issue I've had for almost a month

I totally agree with @LoveMyPeppermill ; the dentist's attitude sounds rude and careless.
When two men really like eachother , there's more to sex than just anal action , like you said you could have done other things like cuddling , hugging eachother in bed , having oral or mutual masturbation like you mentioned .
You know him in person , so it is up to you if you want to keep on getting involved with a dude like that ; in my case I would tolerate him for a while only if I liked him a lot but then eventually I would get bored and tired of the lack of intimacy and mutual connection that two men have when they are truly into eachother .
