Araucaria Appreciation Thread

Good Sunday morning Gary, Frankie, and Paul! (*8*)

Well Gary, our football teams didn't do well yesterday. It was a frustrating game for the Gators. They had a chance to win it at the end of regulation, but the field goal kicker, who can usually be counted on, happened to miss. Your Holy Men seemed to be struggling yesterday, and I didn't catch the USC score, as it was a late game. Oh well!

Sounds like you're having frustrations with your toilet. Hope that ends when you get the flapper fixed. That water company seems to make me think of a song: "I've been through the desert with a company with no name..." Not too catchy, is it? :rotflmao:

Frankie, I hope everything is going well with you. Don't be too hard on yourself. You probably got lonely and craved male companionship, and your heart overruled your head. But now you REALLY know that was a bad idea, and you'll be better able to resist temptation next time.

Actually, our weather is beginning to get more pleasant. Right now it is 69 degrees outside, and it's supposed to go up to the low-mid 80s today. We had a light drizzle early yesterday morning, otherwise, it's been very dry. I have the windows open, and I might turn on the fan in the afternoon. It has been pleasant, especially after our hot, muggy summer.

Hello Johnnie thanks for your words my friend

I hope you're having a pleasant week
Have a cool Wednesday

later buddy

Good Thursday morning, Frankie! (*8*) Hope you're having a great week!

It looks like I'm going to spend a quiet Thursday at home, due to some GI tract issues. I went out to an Indian restaurant yesterday with a friend, and let's just say that my stomach did not appreciate it. It was acting up a little in the morning, but I thought it had quit. I was wrong. As in, I was in the middle of a conversation with my friend, and I suddenly had to get up and go to the restroom. I went to bed last night with pain in my stomach, and it's been acting up this morning. So that means a no-food day, until this thing clears up.

The Gators are playing an away game at LSU on Saturday. At this point they desperately need a win, but I'm afraid this game doesn't look too promising.

Hello Johnnie , I also had issues with my tummy yesterday so I didn't have lunch and I had a light meal later in the evening when I felt ready , now I feel fine
There's an astrolgist I watch on youtube and she said we have to be very cautious with what we eat during scorpio era ( until Nov 23rd) , also we should avoid getting involved in pointless arguments with problematic people . She said we must make sure the meat we eat must be well cooked to avoid stomach issues ,

I hope you feel better later my friend , have a pleasant evening Johnnie

(*8*) Good morning, John.

I love Indian food. The first time there, my partner and I where sick from food poisoning almost constantly as we did it on the cheap and avoided tourest areas to better be emersed in the culture. The last two times I fared better.

Looks like a bad weekend for our teams. Gators and USC have only a 20% chance of winning. The Holy Men have a bye.,

Hope your tummy has settled down.

Hello from Ohio! I've started my big trip.

Hope all is well with you and your tummy is OK. Let's see what the footballers have in store!

(*8*) Good morning, John.

How are the tummy problems. All settled, I hope.

The weekend went the way we figured for our teams. :(

The USC game started at 8PM, 9PM our time and 11PM Eastern time. That is ridicules! I watched the first half then went to bed as the game appeared lost and I needed to get up for church today.

Have a good Sunday.

Good Sunday afternoon Gary, Thad, Frankie, and Andrew! (*8*)

My tummy has been fine for a couple of days now. I had chili and spicy gravy over hamburger buns for lunch, if that gives you any idea of the faith I have that the ailment is over.

Gary, I'm sorry that our teams lost last night. The Gators put up a valiant effort, but it's hard to win when your opponent's quarterback is Superman, breaking every record In the history of college football. The final score for the USC game didn't look too bad, but sometimes they don't reveal that your team might have been out of it for the whole game.

Thad, I hope you enjoy your hockey trip, but I take it you're taking in a Cleveland Browns NFL game? I'm sure you'll enjoy your trip around the country.

Frankie, I hope your tummy is OK. I'll take your astrologist's advice and cook my meat thoroughly, and her advice about arguments is good anytime. St. Paul wrote that we should avoid foolish and stupid arguments.

No football for me this trip. The Browns were in Baltimore anyway, and the locals are thrilled they won.

I was to a modern dance performance last night, which was a delight. It was at the Mimi Ohio Theater, one of the five wonderful restored 1920's theaters of Cleveland's Playhouse Square. They were almost demolished around 1970, but locals realized what they had and saved them. They are now well-loved and well-used.

My California flight leaves Tuesday at 5:55 AM. Yikes.

How was your weekend?

Hello Johnnie , my tummy is back to normal almost but a street vendor who sold me oranges made me try a slice of orange and I ate it and now my head and throat are kinda aching .
I hope I feel better tomorrow , sometimes I am too impulsive in spite of being aware of the risks

Take care my friend

Have a pleasant Monday later
:rb:

Good afternoon, John. I hope you and all the guys here feel completely ok by now. I've had some trouble, too (see my thread). This time of year we have to be very careful with temperature chnages, I'm always afraid of cold air.

Good Tuesday morning Paul, Andrew, Frankie, Paulll92, and Thad! (*8*)

I went out to breakfast with a bunch of guys from the old farts club yesterday. They're usually a good restaurant, but they seemed to get a bunch of orders mixed up. I ordered a Spanish omelet, but when I got it, it was basically their Greek omelet, with spinach and feta cheese and no green pepper, with the Spanish sauce on top. And they put home fries on my plate, which didn't come with my order. It was OK, still good, so I didn't complain.

We're supposed to get flooding rains for the next couple of days, so I guess I'll spend a lot of time indoors.

Thad, I take it that you're in the air right now, flying to San Jose from Cleveland, I would guess probably somewhere over the Great Basin area right now. I hope you enjoy your West Coast NHL hockey games.

Paul, I hope you're enjoying playing the organ and directing your cathedral choir. I'm sorry about your cold. Keep warm and take care of yourself.

Frankie, I hope you're feeling better after taking that sample from the street vendor. You've got to be careful, you just don't know where their hands have been!

Paulll92, I'm hot stuff, huh? I didn't know you thought of me that way.

Hello Johnnie thanks for writing to me buddy

I am ok now , now we've got another problemt : I live with my grandparents who are both 90 , and with my mum who is 64 ( her brothers live in other towns ) We've got a maid who's worked for us for over a year , she's a master manipulator who uses religion as a shield ( A Jezebel snake who turns things around to always win ) me and my mom attempted to fire her today since she is demanding to have a month off with salary included , bonus payments in July ( Independence Day in Peru and Christmas ) We told her that won't be possible as we're not a well off family and we never signed any contract , she doesn't want to be fired ...so she pretended to accept our new conditions where she'll continue working as usual with days off during the year ( Peru's got lots of holidays / days off in the calendar , there's even a day off in honour of a nun who killed herself by starving herself )
The thing is this woman has been disrespectful toward my mom more than 3 times in the past , today when my mom was attempting to fire her , an argument was started , the cunt was accusing my mom of being an arrogant narcissistic person ( mirroring ... a technique narcissistic manipulators use to confuse the other person ) that's when I interrupted the argument and the bitch tried to treat me the same way , then she changed her tactics and as I said she pretended to accept our conditions in order to continue working here but since she is a manipulator , I've typed a document where she accepts to the conditions that she pretended to accept today . Tomorrow we will show her the document , if she refuses to sign it , she'll have to be fired whether she likes it or not ... I wish me and my mom had a supportive person as we both are vulnerable kind hearted people :(

Sorry if I typed too much , it's just that I needed to get this off my chest

I hope you have a pleasant Wednesday later Johnnie

Hi from San Jose! Tonight's hockey game wasn't well attended. A midweek game against a non- division team, plus the Sharks are pretty awful. But it was entertaining. The Panthers won, 5-3.

I went to karaoke afterwards. The regular kind. It was fun.

Hope you're well and happy and getting meals you really want.

(*8*) Good afternoon, John

Looks like your gator.gifwill have tough time this week with Missouri with only a 22% chance. My Holy Men are a 92% favorite and USC 66% to win over UCLA, Los Angeles's BIG rivalry. I will be getting the broadcast of the Gators at 5:30 tomorrow. and Notre Dame and USC at 1:30.

I am very relieved to finally have everything around the house fixed after a summer of continuous failures. The repair of the water softener went well. Usually, I have been sleeping around 5 hours a night, last night it was over 8 hours undisturbed.:zzz::zzz::zzz:A big weight has been lifted.

Hope the flood does not get you. Enjoy the time with the TV and keep your feet dry.
