Are Bottoms Looked Down On?

I don't argue with womanly women, nor with womanly guys (those always happen to be bottoms). Not because I look down upon them but because the wisdom of generations and life has shown that the kind is unable to reason factually and they always put their heart and soul in everything.
So yes, based on that I discriminate. This doesn't mean hate or looking down upon... just treating differently (sometimes even better or more courteously as not to hurt their fragile emotional state)

I've never experienced anything like that here in the States but what you're describing is, from what I've been told, common in Spain. I'm of Spanish descent and the women in my family (the ones from Spain) are glad they left. Apparently, there's a disrespectful attitude towards women there. It's not surprising that the same attitude is extended to bottoms, who are often seen as 'the woman'.
 
I've never encountered any discrimination against bottoming but I can see how and why it exists. I've only ever bottomed so far and I never felt like I was being looked down upon or anything by any of the guys I've slept with or by any of my friends who know I've bottomed.

When did they left? Spain has change a lot in the last years. There is not more discrimination to women than in any other western country.

Also, I'm not aware about that discrimination against bottoms, "pasiva" sounds to me more like a bitchy joke than an insult. I agree, here the stereotypical "macho" is associated to tops, but most of the guys who describe themselves that way use to be closet cases.

My aunts left when they were 19 and 26 and are now 38 and 45 respectively. So, almost 20 years ago. I can see how it's changed in 20 years though, it's just what I was told.
 
^ in 80s after dictatorship things were still changing, specially if they lived in small cities or rural areas I can understand them.

If you think that's bad, you should hear the reactions I get when I tell people I don't really like anal sex either way (top or bottom). Like there's no way I can have sex without anal intercourse or something. I've been asked the question before and my answer is "neither".

You know it is something I probably noticed but assumed it was the "norm". When I told very few people about what I have done in the past with the same sex, every last one of them (all 100% straight mind you) said "humm" kind of nodded their heads and after a few question shot their heads over at me and said "but you aint never taken it up the bum have you !?". And I honestly answered no. Receiving anal from another man seems to be the ultimate act of gay sex. That is where I believe your "man card" has been revoked.

However, some of you have to realize that this goes hand in hand with that "so who's the girl and whose the boy here" question. People are only trying to relate to you and the only way they know how to is to compare what you do to what they do (presuming they are straight). And in their world, the bottom ( the woman) is on the receiving end of sex. And generally most bottoms are fem and take on many traits of that of a woman. So what are any of you expecting to hear. That's the woman, she is emotional, cooks and cleans -- he is the house wife.

I do most of the housework at my home. But I'm nearly always the top. And I don't think people find that horribly stunning. But maybe I just live in Topsy-Turvy Land. :)

gay people pass judgment on other gay people all the time. I have friends who can't stand fems, or think there faking it just to fit in. Then the fems think the same as them. Or i have gay friends who make you fell guilty for eating a burger and fries, and question my gayness. I have friends who take it personal if you don't watch glee. Or friends who get mad when you don't want to watch a baseball game.

Not in my experience. I've still got my "man card" and so does every other bottom I've met. You know what you can figuratively do if you disagree.
