Are cigarettes a turn off?

I think it's interesting that most of the people on here are so sensitive to cigarette smoke versus in real life most of the people I meet either don't care or smoke themselves. I have a friend that hates cigarette smoke though and I get really annoyed because (even though I never smoke around her) we have to move anytime we're around other people smoking.

Cigarettes aren't just a turn-off....they're a deal breaker. If a guy is stupid enough to smoke, he should just keep on walking. As a rule, smokers are less intelligent than nonsmokers.

Your rule is so painfully flawed that you've made yourself look damn near bigoted in comparison. I mean, deal breaker, fine, that's a debate that warrants no merit. But to call a smoker less intellectual because he does so is such broken logic; can be applied to ANYTHING that may do anything to cause a dwindling lifespan.

Seriously, that's both pathetic and insulting - and I've never smoked.

I like when guys make those kind of solemn proclamations. It let's me know right off the bat that they are uptight pricks that I shouldn't bother with..Then I walk away from them in the middle of their next sentence..

Brilliant..

For all the warnings about smoking I can't believe people still do it. My dad died of lung cancer (never smoked) it's a very painful way to die. So I find it a big turn off.

I'm a frequent cigar smoker and occasional cigarette smoker. I don't give a fuck. It feels good, tastes good. Just like hard liquor and steak. Cancer? Who cares. We're all gonna die anyway. If I got severe cancer, i'd just shoot myself in the head before the real suffering came.

They can be if the breath stinks, make teeth yellow, and stink like cigarettes afterward. My view, is that if a guy needs cigs to stay thin, then, OK.

I have never smoked and I wouldn't go near them.

As a former smoker, Yes, it's a turn off.
Even when I smoked, I didn't like being near smoke in a restaurant when eating - it fucked with the food taste.

My wife certainly didn't like it - I didn't smoke in the house.
The smell/breath is a definite turn off at this point in my life.

Certain flavours are much better experienced without the pall of smoke on the taste buds.

Well, I wouldn't say a 'turn off', but I certainly don't care for them.

I fell in love with a man who happens to be a pipe smoker--and I live with it. For some reason I'm not as annoyed by that as I would be with cigarettes. It also helps that he only smokes outside.
My boss years ago (when even offices were "smoking areas") used to smoke a pipe, and the aroma from his choice of tobacco was actually wonderful - smelled really great! It seems that I remember the brand being Apple???

When I was a kid cigarette smoke didn't bother me and it even smelled good. But now, I can not physically tolerate the smell at all. A cigarette in the mouth can look sexy on certain guys, but if they're habitual smokers, it's not gonna work out.

My ex-b/f, Dave is a smoker.

He always was courteous and attentive to not smoking in the house or car because he didn't like the smell of it.

Sometimes, the smell of smoke on him was (and still is) a turn on to me, depending on my mood.....

YEs it is. The awful smell, the yellow teeth and the smoker's cough..all a turn off.

Cigarette smoking is a deal breaker for me. Cigarettes are cheap and trashy and meant to be used packs at a time, leading to health problems.

Cigars, however, are a different story. Even though their smell is stronger, they are generally of a much higher quality, and are meant to be individually savored. I can take cigar smoke outside, but not in a contained area inside.

As someone else pointed out, a leatherman with a cigar is a hot image!

Cigarettes aren't a total "deal breaker" for me.... I just wish he wouldn't do it,,,,

I mean, you're paying a corporation to kill you. And it's not just an "easy kill", either... Dying of lung cancer or emphysema or any other of the host of diseases that cigarette smoking is linked to is often a long drawn out and painful process.

Youth is fleeting.

That "it's kinda cool" to smoke will mean nothing when you are slowly and painfully withering away in a hospital bed, wondering if each painful breath will be your last...

And all the while, the tobacco companies will count your money and deny you the proper health care.

Sound like a good idea to you ?

Then by all means - light up.

I never liked it. Then I kissed a smoker. Now it's my number one turn-off.

Is it a deal breaker? No.
Do I dislike it? Hell yea. The whole "its like kissing an ashtray'' isn't far from the truth.

I am quite surprised there are many smokers hater here.

If someone tell me smoking is a deal breaker, then I would tell them drinking is a deal breaker for me too. I don't drink, not even beer, especially hate to kiss someone after they drank red wine. The taste to me is just plain-o awful.

Since many people talk about how bad is smoking, let's talk about how bad is drinking. One would think second hand smoke is bad, how bad is drinking would kill innocent people instantly ? How many people die because people drink and drive ? How many broken families because the husband is alcoholic, abusing their wives and children ? Then you talk about smoking cause lung cancer, how come no one talk about drinking cause cirrhosis that lead to liver cancer ?

Just someone got too much to drink cause them puke on the train, puke on the bus, just puke everywhere totally disgust me, the sight and the smell affecting the people around. How can one tolerate that ?

I don't hate people on drinking, so don't hate me on smoking !

I think I've posted this in another thread but smoking is absolutely a turn off and a deal breaker for me.
