Are cigarettes a turn off?

I actually find that I like smokers more than non-smokers for some strange reason. More often than not, I also find that smokers tend to be more social than their non-smoking counterparts. This is just my personal opinion, so don't hate.

So, yes, I find smokers to be a turn-on.

Gosh yes! The smell of it is just horrible. D:

Honestly, I think it's a turn off, but certainly not a deal-breaker. Some of the 'smoker bashing' in this thread is disgusting, and completely unnecessary.

My best friend is a 'pack a day' smoker, so I'm used to having it around me, and actually kind of like the smell of 'fresh' cigarette smoke. As long as a person doesn't smoke in enclosed areas (houses, cars etc.), the smell doesn't bother me at all.

Last year though, I had a cancer scare, and it actually caused me to resent my friend for his smoking habits. It angered me that there I was, having done nothing to knowingly expose myself to cancer causing agents / substances, being forced to endure various tests (and the intense levels of acute anxiety that come with them), feeling like my whole world was crumbling down around me through no fault of my own, whilst he happily, and casually, went about his usual business smoking roughly twenty cigarettes each day without a second thought to the consequences.

The turn off for me, comes not from the smell, but from the understanding of what it's like to be faced with the imminent possibility of cancer, and the idea that they are knowingly putting themselves at risk, perhaps with the erroneous mentality that "it probably wont happen to me" (a paraphrased quote from my friend).

Ordinarily, I'm not one to impugn another person's right of volition. However, in regard to smoking, due to my past experiences, I fear that I am too aware of the possible repercussions to view it with such indifference.

they may have been sexy before, but now I find them a turn-off, If I meet someone who smokes I will not even attempt to have an intimate relationship with them.

It's a good thing none of yall live in New York City with "smoking is a deal breaker attitude" yall will cut yall getting laid potential by 70% in this town

I dated 1 guy that smoked and he most likely will be the only 1. I hate the smell of cigarette smoke. he'd come in the house after smoking and he'd stink so bad. he'd want a kiss & I just couldn't do it. the smell was repulsive. I refused to ride is his car. it stunk so bad. smoking is def. a deal breaker for me. not only from the smell but watching someone I love slowly kill themselves doesn't appeal to me.

Steven.

I'm not one to judge, and I have been known to smoke now and then (6 cigarettes in my life would be a generous estimate), but yes, they are generally a turn off.

Cigarettes are absolutely a turn off. My mom was a heavy smoker and I can remember the awful taste and feeling I had in my chest from inhaling her second hand smoke almost as if I were the one doing the puffing, not to mention the awful smell it left on my clothes.
