I had hopes for Fetterman. It would have been great to have someone in Congress who could represent people with disabilities, much like Max Cleland or Tammy Duckworth. He started out well with his openness about his mental health struggles and how it impacted him and his family....He has decided not to be the best partner in his own mental or physical health and it is time for others to exert actual influence to get him to step aside.
But it seems that the stroke has left him with ongoing mental health issues that are likely too much for someone in the Senate. There are Senators who are less than adequate but they have strong staffs who ensure that the work gets done. Fetterman is losing staff at an alarming rate and the staff members who are leaving are raising the red flag that he's not competent.
He probably would have been gone by now if the Democrats weren't afraid that he would pull a reverse Arlen Specter and jump parties to become a Republican.
