Are most catholic priests gay ?

Collars utterly deflate my penis. But yeah...

Fair enough

I don't believe that most priests are gay, especially the older ones, but I'm not in a position to know. I am guessing that at least thirteen priests have served at the two parishes that I have belonged to in my lifetime and only one was accused of being gay.

all the ones i know are, and don't be lulled into a fools paradise. I know ALOT of them.....ALOT. They are so gay it's not even funny.....

I believe this. More details would be good.

like what kind of details? They swish around in albs and habits during the day at night they are fabulously gay! It's great because they can absolve you right on the spot of any mis steps.

Some I hear were cross dressers and were told not to get in to the habit...

Some priests are, and some are not.

One of the best priests that my parish ever had was from the UK. He was a former lawyer who worked for a prestigious Rochester law firm. He had been married to the granddaughter of a former US President, and had two daughters. After getting divorced, he joined the Catholic Church (he was baptized, raised and married in the Anglican Church), and decided to become a priest. Because his marriage was not sanctified in the Catholic church, he was able to become a priest, even though he was divorced and had children. He was my pastor for 12 wonderful years. He was realistic, and when he counseled couples, he had a true understanding of relationships because his own had failed. He was very charismatic, and welcomed everyone into church, even if the diocese said not to. He was simply a good man, and a compassionate priest. Our parish was much better for having been led by him.

When I was a teenager, my parish was one of the diocese centers for training new priests. Each year, we had a different deacon in residence at our parish, who would become an ordained priest at the end of his stay. When I was in preparation for my Confirmation, that was the year we had Deacon Robert with us. He was movie star handsome (like the pics above), and being in his early twenties, he was fit and hairy, and downright sexy. Yes, I had a crush on him. I was sad when he was ordained and re-assigned to another parish in the medium-sized Rochester Diocese. Years later, I was shocked to learn that Father Robert, who was a popular priest wherever he went, had been the first priest in the diocese to die of AIDS related symptoms. I knew that he sent my teenaged gaydar off the scale. I never saw any outward signs to prove he was gay, but when I had talked with another priest who had served with him, he confirmed it.

Percentage wise I would speculate that a greater number were gay than in the rest of the population. A young man who has been taught that his sexuality is wrong and knows that he can not exist in a heterosexual relationship might be inclined to seek refuge from those who would question why he never married by entering the Priesthood.

It would be wrong to paint with a broad brush and it really doesn't matter anyway.

A rational reply that speaks to the unwillingness of many people, to accept that ones umarried Uncle Jack, or unmarried Aunt Matilda may well be as queer as the rest of us, here....but, as you correctly remind us, it really doesn't matter...for queers are as good, and as bad as are the rest of the human race...

Priests secretly fuck the nuns, all the others are pedophiles.

So, homosexuality is something you become?

I don't know how you would derive that from my post, while our sexuality is somewhat fluid and some guys are 100% gay while the rest have varying percentages of "straight" such as my self, I figure that I am about 80% gay but have some hetero leanings, enough for me to live a straight life in a hetero marriage and stay monogamous.

My thought was that in the Catholic church the percent of gay males is the same as in the general population, however the young males who are gay might find the Priesthood a comfortable place to reside, not because they fuck nuns or molest alter boys, but because they don't have to explain why they are single.
Therefor, the percent of gay men who are priests may well be higher than in the general population.

Stupid Question. I do not know if any are gay I know that many are pederasts having sex with a little boy is not sex it is sick. Sometimes wonder how much education you had Telstra.

In the naivete of my youth, I attended a seminary for a few years with the sincere intention of becoming a priest. I have to say that, at seminary, I shared hand jobs and blow jobs with several of my fellow seminarians. However, it wasn't even close to rampant. I got the impression that it was no more common than in the general population. And not once did I come across anyone who had a particular bent towards young children.

This article explores the percentage argument that tends to annoy so many people, gays included

http://www.theguardian.com/society/2015/apr/05/10-per-cent-population-gay-alfred-kinsey-statistics

To quote another, I don't care a toss, one way or another, what the percentage is....as long as there is sufficient for me..;)

This the reason that I didn't site specific percent of the population as being gay, no one really knows, you have guys like me who have been married for over 40 years who in their youth strained to conform to societal constraints, some guys in total denial, some just aren't sure.

I was going to write something here to taunt, ridicule, embarrass, and humiliate the OP. But up to now he has seemed to be immune to any kind of negative posting about his JUB contributions. So what's the use?

Carry on, if it amuses you there in the Outback.

Several years ago I went with a girlfriend to Puerto Rico on vacation---we were just friends. I went to a club with her (mixed group) and an amazing hot straight acting man hit on me. I went outside with him and he said lets talk in my car. I did--we made out. It was hot. I asked him what he did. He said he was a Jesuit priest. I freaked. (I went to Catholic school for 9 years) After I calmed down---we talked about it---he told me lot's of priests are gay. He also told me lot's are pedo's are priests and those guys know what order to enter. He told me the order's---and said that the Jesuits was not one of them. This Pope is a Jesuit. That's my religious story for the day--Happy Easter:lol:
