  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are religions racist ?

It's probably better described as elitism, rather than racism. If you don't know the right details, you can't join our club!

I don't even care about your question. :-)

When I heard "I was sitting in the bath" all I could think of was being there with you, in the bath.

Soaping you up, scrubbing your back, feeling your wet, slippery body.......

....When one reads his late in life (and presumably wiser) comments about the lack of condemnation for those who know God by some other name, one hears the same voice as many who are non-Christian but believe in a higher power....

Are you saying Graham was scornful of people like Swaggart and Bakker?

It's only Christians who believe that, and probably only a small minority of them. There is no hell in Judaism, and in Buddhism the concepts of both heaven & hell are very different from the ones in Christianity.

the earliest religions centered on a city state or tribe/language groups.

for example, Athens was named for Athena, who those early Greeks regarded as their patron goddess, or protector.

Judaism is similar, although it is unclear whether the first Jewish theology thought their god was a universal god, or simply a jealous national god who was very strict about his chosen people praying to other gods, like Bal.

over time, new religions emerged, but into a society that was aware of outsiders. two in particular, Islam and Christianity, claim to be the religion of all, but clearly you can see racist or nationalist veins within.

examples- the Italian control over roman catholic church,

or the special relationship of Arabs to Islam, as opposed to Persian or Turkish.
