Are you a Deplorable or a Despicable?

Clinton didn't expect that anyone would hear her beyond the small group of gay supporters who gathered in a New York apartment to have wine and canapes, hear her speak and contribute to her campaign.

Just as Romney didn't expect anyone to hear him talk about the makers and the takers (or whatever it was) either.

:rotflmao:

It was something about people on public assistance. "They don't want to work or take responsibility for themselves.." Something like that.

The tape was leaked to the press by a waiter who was working at the event. The reason? Barely political. He had had it with the way Romney's people were treating the staff at the hall where the event was held. As a result, he helped get Obama elected. :=D::=D::=D::=D::=D:

Nothing gets rich people all sore at the tit like the poor. Why is that?

Will you get 'sore at the tit' when the new President Kamala imposes a special levy placed on top of your regular tax bill to support her multi-billion-dollar scheme for reparations—

That's cash to the value of $100,000 each or $75,000 plus a free 4 year college education each.

Grimshaw still hasn't told us which two he is.

In the USA taxes are collected at many levels by federal, state, and local governments...

That may be so but tax money is our community money and we have to trust whoever is in power at the time to spend our community money in the most sensible way.

But the fostering of tribalism, mutual-hatred and mutual-vilification of Deplorables versus Despicables doesn't help community nor communal decision-making of how best to spend community money.

She sounds like the anti-matter Regan.

Besides, I hover just above the poverty level. My tit would be spurting strawberry milk all over the place.

...the most progressive system...

I'd love to know your definition of 'progressive'.

Alex Ortega-Cortez says they're progressive. They want to open up the borders— which means there'll be even more people not paying tax for the handouts they'll receive.

 So why are they complaining?

Depends on who's complaining. It's entirely possible for someone whose income doesn't come from one of the economic sectors that receive preferential treatment (real estate development, for example) to pay substantially north of 50% of his or her income in combined federal, state and local income taxes, payroll tax, and property and use taxes, and sales tax. This has lead to emigration from high states (New York and Connecticut, for example) to no or low tax states. (Florida is the most-oft cited example.)

^ I'm glad you told me that.

But I think the general public assume the word "progressive" in politics is a good thing.

I think it's a bad assumption.

^
In the US, while "progress" is thought to be good by most of the population, the latest fashion in "progressive" policies (income redistribution, racial preferences, abortion up to birth, etc., etc.) are opposed by a majority.
