  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you a good cook?

that is one thing i can do well and i love to do it. i love trying new things and experimenting with new dishes. one thing though, i hate to wash up.

I am the best ;)
Just made a Funghi Risotto Tonight, he he he.
I feel really proud about it, maybe the only thing about me I'm very proud of, so.. Yeah!

"It's getting better all the time!" ;)

I, too, love to cook. I suppose if I had a special dish it would be debonded Cornish game hen stuffed with wild and brown rice served with a sweet and sour sauce, Agrodolce.

I cook usually every night and go the whole route on Sundays. For me, it's not the end (or beginning, however you look at it) of the week unless I've spent Sunday morning listening to podcasts while I'm making Sunday lunch.

I don't mind cooking, but I have to be in the mood for it. I've been told that when I do cook, what I make is pretty good. I think I'm much better on the grill. I learned how to grill and BBQ with my Dad, who would always joke that a man NEEDS to know how to BBQ to be a man! ;)

When I was in my early 20s, NO! However, along the way, living in different countries, I seem to have put together a style that my friends love (they claim it is "fine cuisine," but hey, they are my friends after all 8'/ ).

While in Britain I loved taking trips to Greece, and loved Mediterranean cooking, especially with access to a good herb garden (another hobby I developed along the way). That got me started with experimenting with mixing different styles of cooking.

My favorite is a tomato sauce from real fruit with oregano / marjoram / sage and squash, green beans, and onion, reduced with browned chicken breasts added in the last hour (or pork chops for a change) and the secret ingredient: a touch of cinnamon! Over rice or pasta, it's great.

Stews are an ever-changing delight, too.

Being able to take whatever is in the fridge and turn it into something good is a solo male necessity!

Not bad, tonight i'm cooking chicken and mushroom pasta in a sundried tomato and basil pesto with pasta, and garlic bread.

I am a very good cook, and love to do so.
My partner and I have a dinner party every other weekend or so.
He sets the table, I cook, and he does what dishes are left after dinner (I am a neat freak, and clean as I go).

He usually tells me what he wants me to make, but I also suggest things, depending on the people coming.

Two favorites: Grilled salmon with fresh chutney
Shrimp and scallops with grilled vegetables and saffron rice.

I love to cook. I also love forcing other people to eat my incredibly fattening food and then decline to eat it myself. AHAHAHHAA.....

My fav. to make is my wonderful vegatarian pizza. I mean, when it has it's own whole wheat grain crust + three kinds of mushrooms + tomates + zucchin+ brockli+ special sauce (no dirty thoughts!)+ and herbs from my own garden, it has to be increibly good.

Fruit flans, very simple veggie meals, and my horrible kill anyone who eats with a heart attack:

five cheese, olive oil dripped, shrimp, scallops, and cream sauced "mystery" pasta dish
can you say calories?

It's my revenge on the world for being big boned.

Why are all the JUB get-togethers in bars?

We need to have a potluck. Just think; the food would be awesome, and we'd all be overweight, but we'd be overweight together. :-)

There isn't a man, woman, or child alive that has mastered the fine art of the drive-thru like I have.

Italian pot roast bolognese style -- slowly braised in red wine with tomatoes, carrots, celery, and onions -- served with fettucine.

Also make a pretty good creme caramel

ISO -- somebody who can do salads. Must be cut.

I've been told I'm a good cook. I think I just get by.

Someone told me I should try making a career out of it one time.

I know how to find a fast food place like no other. My best dish is a double cheeseburger from McDonalds.
