Are You Afraid Of Spiders?

I don't care for spiders. The little spiders that don't harm you, or the daddy long legs (I don't know the actual name) are cool, and if I find them in my house I just bring them outside. Now if we're talking a Tarantula or a Brown Recluse and any other crazy ass spider I'll scream and run. The bugs I really hate are Wasps and Hornets/Yellow Jackets. I was stung as a kid and have been traumatized ever since. It's sad really.

The irony is that Wasps and Hornets/Yellow Jackets are the natural enemies of many spiders. They usually sting them, encapsulate them into their nests, either paper or mud, and when their young are born the spider become Wasp food!

I use to be afraid of spiders, but living in the country you have to get use to them. I'm no longer afraid, however the last thing that a Brown Recluse, or a Black Widow sees is the heal of my boot. ..|

All of the others usually get scooped up and put outside.

I'm not afraid of spiders, but i do find them creepy. Snakes on the other hand are another story. Just get me away from snakes .. lols.

I don't mind spiders. I normally try to get them outside if I see one in the house. I wsa taking a shower the other day and one started crawling around the shower. I just moved the towel and finished my shower, and let him outside afterwards. :)

I love spiders!
They save my having to catch moths to put them outside :D
Every fly and moth the spiders catch in the house is one less insect for me to worry about accidentaly squishing.

Love the spiders!
They are you're friends!

Appart fromt he very poisonous ones, those should probably be left alone or discouraged from living indoors.
Fortunatly there aren't any very poisonous ones in Ireland

I am a fan of spiders when they are not trying to perv on me in the shower. EEEK!!! That's what this huge dude was doing!

Yeah, no my shower spider was smooshed with a long broom because it was too scary to try and pick up to go outside. One of my native Floridian friends did it actually, and it jumped really high once it fell off the wall and it was FAST. But it did die a quick, and hopefully painless, death. I sucked his body into the vacuum cleaner, may it rest in peace.

I don't like spiders and worse, I seem to attract them. My bedroom is home to several large wolf spiders. I kill them when I can, but the rascals are fast. They come out a night and scurry across the floor. Sometimes I'll feel one crawl over me when I'm in bed. I know they serve a useful purpose, so I try not to freak out too often.

I'm terrified of black widow and brown recluse spiders. Thankfully, I don't run into them very often.

I probably would have had a heart attack right then and there if I had seen that! Normally I don't mind spiders, even bigger ones......but that one would have definately got the adrenaline pumping!

Where are all of you who have wolfspiders inside the house? We get thick, shiny black ones where I am (I've killed ones up to 2 cm in diameter--yes, I crush them ruthlessly and don't bother to be humane), but I haven't seen any hairy ones yet, thankfully.
I know most spiders are harmless, but I recoil a bit when I see one.

I think it's curious how in Britain, all the wildlife seems to be cute and harmless (hedgehogs, badgers, etc.). Nature here in North America seems to be a bit more venomous, and in Australia (which I've never been to) everything is lethal, from what I hear. I wonder whether there's a scientific explanation for that.

I hate ants more than spiders. Ever since I found a bunch of them crawling all over my toothpase, I've had nightmares about them

Ahhhhh! My one fear! Seriously. Something about them just make me feel.... i dunno how to describe it.

"Everyone's got there breaking point.
With me its spiders.
With you its me!"

I will be so impressed if anyone knows where that quote is from.

i wuvs them :luv:
they're kind of like pets to me <3
we've got all sorts of spiders around here
i happen to live in a very uhm spider-rich area
no real poisonous ones though
i trained my mother into leaving them alone
most of the house spiders only come out at night anyway
keh.. they're nice company too!
i like having them around ^_-

I hate spiders... I scream when they try to eat me (which is anytime I am startled by one). I always get someone else to kill them for me.

Ba-doop.

Nah - don't mind spiders. In fact, I like them, and have collected a few spider books over the years. I don't mind most creepy-crawlies, but, I must admit, I'm not very fond of leeches or slugs.

-T.

I can deal with small spiders but big spiders oh my god I'll kill those faster then I can scream.

i spent like 20 minutes stuck on the back landing of my house last nite cuz there was a huge one hanging down from the back door...it finally dropped and i took my shoe off to smash it but when i tried it fuckin jumped and i swear i think my whole life flashed before my eyes....really didn't help matters that i was high as fuck at the time
