  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Are you out on facebook?

Mine Says Interested in Women, I'm not out to anyone, except a few close friends

Honestly, I don't know. I'd have to go look. I'd feel a bit weird saying "Interested in: Men" since I'm partnered - it makes it sound like I'm trolling for something on the side. But I think every one of my friends is actually a friend, and thus knows I'm gay anyway.

Lex raises a good point in my mind. However, I am single, so I am trolling for something. !oops!

Ugh, if you're gay and closeted why are you even putting interested in women? Just leave it blank. BTW, leaving it blank often means gay.

I love my friends who say they are interested in Men, Women.
I think they haven't a clue that this is something sexual.....

well I have my bf listed as In a Relationship with Tony.... so i mean.. even if it didt say his name on my page or my name on his page. its not really a big deal cuz all of our friends know were together. and i would have to say that 99% of our friends are straight.. i know personally i only have 3 frinds that are gay and there lesbians.. so they dont count lol.. haha i love those girls there fun hahaha but thats besides the point lol

I'm not out on FB, but I've noticed a lot of gay groups on there. I thought about adding another profile, but I know that is unethical.

Totally OUT!

I did the "interested in men" thing initially, until I stated getting friendship requests from relatives and real life friends...so now I just leave that spot blank. It doesn't show I'm interested in anything.

Although I haven't been on FB in about 7 months, I know there are 'compromising' pics of me and my BF in his profile.

Really? I didn't know that. I guess then it makes a little more sense how a gay guy who doesn't know me through any friends found me and messaged me, saying that I'm cute. I was seriously confused about how he figured out that I was interested in men.
If you didn't get it from what I just wrote, I leave mine blank. But actually, I think I have left all the fields on my profile blank. I had enough of filling out forms on Myspace, after I stopped using it because I got a virus from it. I use Facebook to communicate first and foremost with people I knew before seeing them on a website, so it doesn't matter to me much.

P.S. Also, it's because several members of my church family are on there. I just don't want the humiliation of coming out to them and my real family, because I know they're going to make to a big deal out of it.
But I'm confused, how would it be trolling if you're completely out, and you put that you're interested in men?

>>>I thought about adding another profile, but I know that is unethical.

I didn't think I'd ever see the words "Facebook" and "unethical" come into such proximity. :)

I checked. It just has my birthdate and "in a relationship". It doesn't have "with (Pubert)", but that's because he's pretty protective of his privacy.
