I figure since the release is next Friday now is a good time to start a new thread about it. I'm wondering if I go to an Apple store will they be able to hook us up with AT&T contracts or will they just sell us the phone and then we still have to go to an AT&T store? And will Apple close early and open at 6 as well? I'm gonna go to an Apple store later on today and hopefully get some questions answered. But if anyone else is craving the iPhone drop a line here and let everyone know.

Oh, I want one. I want one really badly. It won't be out here for several months though . I just took out an 18 month contract with Vodafone on a Blackberry Pearl so am really hoping that the iPhone comes out on Vodafone so then should be able to upgrade to it.

I would of thought that you can start the contract in the Apple store. Maybe they will have some AT&T staff there for the launch?

The iPhone should be available at an AT&T store. I would think this would be the first stop. I would not think that the Apple Stores would be writing contracts, but I guess you can buy an iPhone at the Apple Store and then go to the AT&T store?

Analysts are saying the iPhone will be a flop because of price! Dah, my Moto Krazr was $400.00+ so why is the price of the iPhone any different?

Would love to have an iPhone, but cell phnes do not wor well here..too far away from any providers towers!

If it werent for the fact that you have to get at&t service i would be one of the first in line for the iphone. but for now ill just stick with sprint.

I want one, but i won't pay for it because i feel it's overly priced only because for that much money and for how they say it's ahead of it's time, they only have a 2mega pixel camera in it. You'd think that apple would have put atleast a 3mgp if not more of a 4 or 5.

Also, even though i like cingular/att, i travel quite a bit abroad and i would need that phone to be unlocked and unless they start selling them unlocked or a hack is found, i won't get it.

Too expensive, but I like AT&T..... been with them for years and the service is reliable.

hmmm. let me think... NO.
i'm not going to get one until they work all the bugs out.
I can imagine by x-mas they will be promising one that's better. fingers crossed.

yea, as much as i want one i think il wait for them to fix a few things, based on the reviews ive read people are gonna have some issues with using the virtual keyboard...

^ "You can get online in a wireless wi-fi hotspot, which is fast and satisfying, or via AT&T's cellular Internet network, which is slow and horrible."

So far as I'm concerned, all I want out of a phone is the ability to make phone calls. I don't even send text messages.

My current phone was free with the contract, and it has about 57,000 features I never use. I ain't shelling out £££ for one with another 57,000.

Don't buy one then. :p

The iPhone isn't for everyone. But I'm sure everyone can appreciate how revolutionary it is. This buzz around the iPhone is really remarkable and I'm sure people will remember it for years to come.

Check out this ad I made. Some marines and I were getting drunk one night and talking about how awesome it was, and how badly I wanted one (I'd sell my own mother, if she were worth $599). We figured it was so cool, that Apple could get away with being starkly, bluntly honest about how cool it was.

well i was at the apple store yesterday, i dont get why peopel camped out for days. i arrived at 6:15PM and walked right in the front door, guy came upto me and said Cash or credit? but sence i was just looking i went over to the display ones and fooled around wiht one. my first impression was just what i thought it woudl be....amazement, i didnt think it woudl be so small and beautyfull. the interface is clean and simple, slim package, the built in itunes is so much fun.

but as i also figured the onscreen keyboard was a bit tough to use. i tested out sending texts and typing in web URLs and got several typos, id imagine though if i do wind up buying it il get used to it as i did my Treo.

after reading several things about it i noticed a few details that i hadnt known before, most importantly is the fact that the iphone has no removeable battery....and in order to get a new one you have to send your phone to apple for 4-5 days for them to replace it....how is anyone supposed to live wihtout a phone for 5 days????? they asked apple to comment and they avoided the question.

also the slow network speed....yea i know its slow but i have verizon...they slow also.....but hopefully they will upgrade thier network soon so i can get some nice broadband speeds while i sit in class!

WOW< the commercial was amazing and funny too ... But is iPhone really that worth and great ???

Mobile network O2 is close to getting the exclusive right to sell Apple's ludicrously-hyped iPhone in the UK.

Noooooooo

I just signed up to a 18 month contract with Vodafone. Plus O2 get crap signal where I live.

I've got bad news mate. The typos...? They've got nothing to do with the iPhone. :D

your just stupid. This is a break through phone with the best UI for a phone yet. It has full internet and the easiest photo manipulator you can imagine. Full Mac heads bought the iPhone including all the techies who understood how cool this phone is. And I am sure all you little Northhampton bitches will be buying them soon. It has google maps, which other smart phones do have, but whats different about this is the hands on use with maps. It has all types of shit, and while Edge is sucky as hell, it is still worth the buy. Not to mention everyone already understands that Edge sucks and want 3G for it.

I think your just sad your stuck with buying Mediocre phones with no imagination (they all pretty much have the same design) because you can't buy your own smart phone. Oh, I love idiots.
