Thanks, fg, I hadn't heard of him before. I expect that they screened his shows in the UK back in the 90s but I didn't own a TV back then. He looks familiar though, so I must've seen seen him in films.
Harlem Nights and Coming to America are probably his biggest projects, the rest of his work is small parts in campy black films during the late 80s/early 90s. Other than that he mostly was featured on stand-up comedy shows.
Too bad we don't have anyone in the black community standing up like this today...
It's a complete 180 from the 60s. Back when we were driven and fought harder against much worse opposition. Complacency will do that to ya'.
