Hop! Back from holidays: that was great, windy, rainy, shinny... damn, this coast sees its weather changing many times a day: unbelievable!

And i'm just about to get back to Paris: new meeting and i'm going to the "Rainbow Attitude" show, the second issue of a major gay meeting in Paris for all professional people, travels, etc. I'm very curious about it...

Last point: USA VOTE TODAY!! Go my american buddies: i'm thinking about you, use your power and use your right to vote! :=D: ROCK THE VOTE! :=D:

I was in Paris a couple of days ago, chating with a guy i know. I'm not into politics and usually i don't talk about it. He wanted to share his fear about what's next for America and the world. He told me that in his own opinion, Bush reelection was the worst thing that could ever happen to the world.

I don't see things that negative, although i know it's NO GOOD but... doesn't he go too far? And... what if he's right?!

Last week i came to the second edition of the european gay meeting in Paris Porte de Versailles called "Rainbow Attitude". It was the opening day and i stayed all the day, showing out my artworks to many people who works for magazines and websites. Well it was a long and hard day, i didn't recognize myself, *selling* myself & my work like hell! For a shy guy like me, it's surrealistic... but well, i'm motivated & sometimes you just feel like you could move mountains.

Sometimes.

Tomorrow is another BIG DAY: i'm moving to Paris. Yeah, finally it happens. A friend rents me his flat in a town very close to Paris. My man drives me to there, with all my packs & so. It's hard for him & me: we've always been together for 10 years.
Well, we won't be seperated for a long time, and i'm gonna get back to our home during week ends.

I feel like i don't realize this situation yet. Damn... i'm already gone. :(

Well, things are going pretty well. My move to Paris went okay, i'm looking for some job and all i have to do is to be patient and hopefull.

The hardest part is being away from the beloved. At this point we have no choice but, hey, i'm back home for the week end and i'll be in Paris next monday. This time no come back before two weeks.
Some people around told me it must take some courage to do that... well, i don't see things that way, as for me the real fight is against myself, my own devils, my wills and my skills.

I'm waiting a BIG answer to a huge thing for me in Paris, planned on 2005. I hope it's gonna happen, it could make a lot for my career. I guess my next blog entry will be on that even.
Fingers crossed! :D

And then everything is said. But, hey, who told they are?!?

Anyway, i won't bore anybody saying exactly what's going on, it's even boring me and i'm even boring myself to hell. Let's say i'm fighting against people and... events, but i'm hanging on. I have some goals and i want to succeed in. For sure.

Just a word for two wonderful men who believed in me for some months and gave me a chance. They're still there and not only to make me create, but also to give me good vibes, faith and trust.

:luv: Thank you, JD & Seth. Much Love. :luv:

Okay, no more bad news & bad mood this time: i succeeded in some projects i wanted badly to come true, i'm gonna talk about these in the next few days.
I gotta settle my website for the announcements and i also wanna share the BIGGEST part as a topic on my favorite board: JUB!

Stay tuned!! ;)

Well, at least two good news to tell ya all:

1/ My drawings and comics will feature in my first ever exhibition, it will happen from september 5th to october 3rd 2005 in Paris, Blue Book Paris bookstore. Here is the link: www.bluebookparis.com (french speaking only).

Yeah it's in a long time and i'll get back to this event later next year, but i just wanted to share my excitation with my buddies here! So if you come in France at this time, i'll be delighted to meet you!

2/ I finally succeeded in being published again in a french gay magazine called "Baby Boy"... it's been hard to make this happen and i'm not sure it's gonna happen again with this publisher, as he doesn't seem to be someone i can trust in, but anyway...

The target is ethnic gay people, and the column deals about the fantasy of *bad* guys, shameless behavior and so... let me show you the two main cartoons: they feature in the toon gallery of my profile in JUB, check it out! ;)

"Ho Ho Ho!!!

Hello down there! I have a little question for ya all: have you been a good little boy this year?

Ho Ho Ho!!! I see little girls too!! Same question, ladies! Have you been a good little girl this year?!

Humm... well well well, i see those innocent and lovely eyes behind their screen, staring at me and waiting for a little gift!!

Here ya go!

I Love this number, don't know exactly all the reasons why, i just Love it. I thought about it as it's the number of next year, which is about to come.
I won't regret 2004 year, too many illusions, disillusions, too many fights, too many lost ones... but, i 'll look back at this year as the year of Just Us Boys, aka Link Me All Over: the year i discovered the site, it changes his name, the whole thing. It's changed my Life so much. The year i met so many gay people around the world thanks to this site, the year i met Vanticat, a man who took my heart to Florida, the year i met Seth & JD, the two wonderful owners of JUB/LMAO who have always believed in me and supported me all the year. And things are not over, hopefully.

Yup, i see 2005 year coming with two giant projects for me, both are related to my Artwork and you know the first one: my first ever exhibition, coming in september. It's so far but it seems so close when you know i have to prepare 25 cartoons & their reproductions for it!
The second project could come much more sooner, i hope so. I'm over excited by this one, as it's the one I've cherished secretly for ages, even if i wasn't really conscious about it.

Last point: i had a MAJOR rendez-vous last week for a great job in Paris as an Artistic Director (hope it's correct) for a Communication (advertisement) agency. We are only four people left, we had to make a test for a real customer of the agency. The creations are presented to him next Monday: i think I'll know if i have another career in Paris very soon next week. :p

God knows I'm not patient... go away 2004! Welcome 2005!!!

Lots of beautiful and positive vibes for 2005 to every member here and to all the people who have suffered & will suffer a long time in the World because of the terrible earthquakes.

(*8*) Love to you ALL. (*8*)

I can't stand that. :p

I'm still waiting for weeks and weeks after two very important things for me, from two different sources. And now a new waiting has begun: someone comes to you, ask for something, you go back to the person & then you are waiting for him to call back and tell what he really wants. I'm waiting.

I can't stand that. :grrr:

EEEKKK!!!

CLX has *disappeared*!!!

OK, just kidding! I've decided to unify my nicknames: Cyrilius is my regular French nick as a cartoonist (and as an online gamer too), it comes from my first name Cyril.

When i decided to go for a career as a gay cartoonist, obviously international, i took the CLX nickname. CLX comes from CLK > CyriLinK, coming from the gay magazine "Link Xtra" i worked for during my 1995-1996 era in the South of France (a fabulous experience). Oh yeah, the "X" instead of the "K": i knew i would make erotic/porn toons, so...

Hum... are you following me?! I think you're confused now!

Well, now I'm beginning to be known around as a gay cartoonist, even in my own country, i felt the need to simplify the whole thing: one guy, one artist, one nick.

I asked the lovely JD about how sounds in English speaking *Cyrilius*, he thinks it's great, so here we go!

Ouch! Now i realize i gotta change the siggy, the whole website of mine, etc. #-o

I hope you like my real & French nickname! :D

OH YEAH!

Finally i got IT! THE JOB! I'm starting next Monday in a communication agency as a graphic designer WoOohoOo!!! :D

OK, it's not the job i originally targeted, so I'm not THAT enthusiastic... nevertheless it's well paid & i need to work for money & for my own sake.

So... i get back to Paris on Sunday. Pariiis, get ready! Guess who's back in town!!!

Last point, my second BIG project, far more interesting, is on production. Can't wait to show it all!

Ha, it didn't work.

I lost my job yesterday. No drama, i wasn't happy working there, making graphic design for big companies making buildings... i think i need something else, something more creative, something using my artistic abilities, like cartoons, flash design.

I'm just a bit confused, i gotta go back again to my homeland, leaving Paris for a while, searching for work and coming back for the rendez-vous.

I gotta pay more attention to where i put my feet.

:p

:D

Months after months, weeks after weeks i was thinkin' about it, working on it, dreaming on it... it's HERE!! The comic is born!!

Check out the first episode of Jeth's adventures, the hunky mascot of JD & Seth, their lovely son!!!

Jeth's comic #1

Just a peek about next issue: you'll meet Nimo!

Have fun & don't hesitate to give us feedback about the comic.

(!) (!) (!)

It's a pleasure for me to tell the World about my brand new website (and url!), English and French speaking, with a new design and a simplified navigation:

(!) (!) (!) www.cyrilius.net (!) (!) (!)

As i had to make people choose between French & US site versions on the welcome page, i told myself "why not making something original with those flags, hu?", something else that just put two images of flags...

So i made two lovely buddies wearing the flags as towels and, hem, taking care of each other.

The version online has a black background, just as all the website; but to present the cartoon to YOU all my friends, here is the complete version, only for JUB, the one that i'll show out during my upcoming exhibition in Paris.

And, to conclude, i'm proud of this drawing cause it expresses my Love for the USA and English speaking. I hope you enjoy:

And yeah, the idea comes from the great & hot photo shoot of Steve Sandvoss when he wears a towel showing the American flag, pics posted in JUB, of course!!!

Well, i had the idea of creating a cowboy for the forthcoming exhibition in Paris, i intended to make a "Space cowboy": keep all the usual settings (hat, boots, etc.) in a space background.

But well, then i remember it's not that often we see a cowboy with the lasso, so i did it.
When making the sketch i had an idea: "hey, what if he was pointing at us, like hey i'm gonna catch you, folk!"
So i did and as i started inking the man i thought it would be funny to see what he caught up previously.. but not cows.. BOYS!

Gotta admit he's a *space* cowboy in a way: a SPECIAL one!
