Art Thread - Sculpture

me too but it's kind of adorable how funny he thinks he is

and ironically belamo's piece (of shit [if you will] with all due respect) is more in line with Dada and their introduction of the "readymade," don't you think Pat? I'm thinking of Duchamp's Urinal. belamo is trying to reintroduce the readymade, but personally I think it stinks.

have I missed any puns? lol

and lol at sloppy.... that galaxy remark was brilliant!!! haha
I wasn't trying to be funny, I was only posting along the general quality of previous messages: it's pathetic how pretentiously clever and well-informed your posts can read... and fail to articulate... like a crampled bad photocopy of myself

I think I will never forget how to spell properly that word

I am aware of how lame the works of Praxiteles or Euphranor (yeah yeah, I know they still think it may be Leochares') are as a quotation, but the terribly lame thing is actually to consider something lame according to how rare or common it is CONSIDERED to BE

You know I am a man of refined taste in art, why would you be surprised that I prefer the luminiferous textures of classical French sculpture, or the vectorial compositions of Ancient Greek masters, to Gothic Michelangelo or Donatello or Sluter or Rodin? Or that I prefer the shapings of Ngumba, Kota, Guro, Yoruba or Senufo sculptures to the comparatively pale Modernist art of Giacometti or Moore?

I appreciate those luminiferous textures and vectorial compositions but I fear you're playing with my fantasies :(

A different view of Oldenburg's "The Kiss," as it is sometimes called, in Philadelphia. A ShiTzu redo.
