YEAH Kucinich!

Monday night, Rep. Dennis Kucinich is on the floor of the House of Representatives introducing articles of impeachment against George W. Bush. He is presenting a 35 count indictment which is being broadcast on C-Span. We will provide a more detailed update, but wanted to be sure to let everyone know right away.



The intense work of the http://www.ImpeachBush.org/VoteToImpeach membership is forcing impeachment on the table.
During http://www.ImpeachBush.org National Call In Day for Impeachment held just one week ago, the offices of Rep. John Conyers were flooded with calls demanding impeachment. We have received reports that there were more calls than could even be answered.

Some of us still believe that we should work towards justice. If we just ignore it, it sets precedence for future politicians.

Even if he is impeached you still need a 2/3 Majority from the Senate to remove him Both Andrew Johnson in 1868 and Bill Clinton in 1998 Were Impeached.Johnson stayed in office by one vote in the Senate and Clinton stayed in office by a 50-50 vote in the Senate. Both Johnson and Clinton were Southern Democrats........( Just an interesting historical note)

They are so late they can might as well sit back and watch stuff unfold before another candidate is sworn in to the White House in January.

This shouldn't had been done last year at all. They should had impeached Bush after he was re-elected in his 2nd term. They know our troops had stayed in Iraq for a long time and trillions of dollars was spent on a war that should had never taken place. They should had impeached him after the failed Katrina efforts to help rebuild New Orleans and our global economy crisis soon after.

I am sorry but I don't see this happening at all. I wish I can see it happen but they were to late introducing this. The only positive outlook I see in this though is it will make McCain even harder to become president and the republicans can't stand for him to represent the Republican party. McCain and Bush both have two similar economic policies and war issues. I wouldn't had thought everything would be focused on Bush when it should be focused heavily on McCain.

Since Bush has been office, I have seen many of the fundamental rights and beliefs that the US has held dear and were respected world wide deminished because of his actions. I think that if we were able to impeach him, it would be a good first step in healing our nation and trying to rebuild the respect we had around the world prior to bush. I don't believe that we should just let it go. That would be wrong to do so.

Bush has certainly shown a lack of 'due care.' How that can be alleged against a President is a vital technical point. There is no lack of evidence of harm.

^^^Very, very late. I think Kucinich should just keep his mouth shut for now. Maybe they should focus off Bush and try to disqualify McCain for wanting a 100 years war and saying that he needs to be educated again on the economy. If this man doesn't know anything about the economy and global issues that can make a world of difference of who can better handle the country McCain doesn't need to be running for president. I've been saying 100 times already that he will be a reckless old man who will only make his own theories of what's going on in the world and he can't keep his word to save his life.

They should be throwing him out instead of worrying about impeaching a president that we've been suffering with over the last 8 years!

If memory serves me correctly, there was talk of impeaching Bush here in this forum before the last election. That was 4 years ago. Perhaps things might be a lot different today had action been taken back then instead of waiting for all of this (irreparable?) damage to be done needlessly.

You guys seem to be missing the point that Dennis Kucinich is a moron who has as much business being in Congress as Cynthia McKinney did. He's also got about as many friends as she did. He could introduce legislation calling for recognition that the sky is blue and it wouldn't get voted on. This is nothing but posturing and symbolism.

This kind of attitude will get him elected.

If you look at the electoral map, I see it being very close again this year as it has been the last two times. This is unfortunate but true.

A lotta people probably said the republican party is toast after Bush's first four years. You're OVERrestimating America's ability to use logic at the polls. Besides, I like Obama but I haven't seen him display much of a backbone. Class? Yes. Charm? Certainly. A backbone? Haven't seen it yet.

You have not been watching. Check him out in the senate going at Lieberman for being such an ass.

Whilst impeachment might have little effect so late in his presidency it would serve to restore the non- American world's faith in the American legal system and to demonstrate that the president can't just ride rough shod over the rest of the world and do as he pleases.

Of course it will not happen, it would be difficult to impeach someone who can sue himself into power.

And as far as the America-hating aspect? We were hating long before Bush and will be hated long after. He certainly didn't help that area, but he didn't cause it either.

True, but think back to September 12 or 13, 2001. Nearly the entire world was in solidarity with the United States. Yes, even France. Italy. Russia. Greece. Latin America. Even China and...yes...IRAN had good things to say about us. It was a lot more than Canada, UK and Israel who were on the U.S. side.

ALL of this was thrown away by our stupid, humanity-hating president.

But, and it was even the title over my avatar for a while, IMPEACH CHENEY FIRST!!!

Kucinich is by no means a moron, but perhaps the best politician, anywhere in the world, in at least 30 or 40 years.

The only reason I never suported Bush getting assassinated was because Cheney would then be in charge, and he is FAR FAR FAR worse than Bush.
