I would explain that when Britney Spears can stagger drunk into a chapel in Vegas and get married for "fun" but still get more rights than I get after 17 years with my husband.. that's an issue that needs to be addressed.

If we were a straight couple, I could sponsor him into the country and he could get his green card. But because we're a gay couple, we live under the constant specter that he might have his Visa refused one year.

We don't want religious marriage.. we want civil marriage.. the kind you get at city hall. I want him to be my next of kin, to have my power of attorney, to inherit my estate without having the government take half of it.

If she was "raised" to think that I should be punished for being gay.. she was raised wrong.

no idea.

I know how pretentious this is going to sound but my cleaning staff look after stuff like that. All I know is that every so often I fill it up before they empty it and I take it outside to the big one and every week or so, the big one is empty. So it's done every week or so.

Just don't ask me what day.
