- a blemish, pimple, scar, bruise or similar skin problem: have they ever caused shooting problems and if so do you guys have particular makeup or ways of dealing with it.

We do use cover up for the stills but it rubs right off when we go to video... if it's REALLY bad we'll either try to shoot around it or cancel the shoot. Two days ago I did a shoot with Jeremy Bilding who had a huge bite mark on his ass. The other guy in the shoot actually asks him about it because there was no way to get around that.

Cancel the shoot. I'm not going to ask a model to do a shoot with someone who's got a cold, they're get it too. We've had to do that before and I'm sure we'll have to do it again. Sucks, but that's the way it goes. It's all part of doing porn.

There's as many reasons for that as there are models. Some guys really love the work, some love the attention, some do it for the quick and easy money. Some guys to it to promote their work as strippers or personal trainers, some do it because they love being flown from their cold homes in the midwest to beautiful tropical locations and treated like a star for a few days.

As far as how much to they get for an average shoot? There is no such thing as an average shoot. All studios have a different pay scale.

Most people do it because it's quick and easy money. They're able to make a lot of money in a short amount of time and it's easy work. The thing about drugs not being an issue in the porn industry is bull shit. Just look at the Mason Wyler shit that attention slut was going on about in his last publicity stunt.

Drugs has always been a problem in the adult industry. Maybe it's more prevelant in the straight side but I love how Jasun tries to make it seem like it's all peachy.
 
Has a straight model ever stopped a scene with a gay model to tell him to tone it down or to hold back a little more? Just wondering if there's been off-camera tension where the straight model wasn't comfortable with the gay model for some reason. Thanks.

My last trainer was known as Chase at Fratmen. He was a kinesiology student in Los Angeles and because of his work raising his public profile, he was making a heck of a lot more than other trainers with his knowledge and experience.

No, actually it isn't easy work. I know that YOU might think from your little ivory, knowledgeless tower that it's easy work but it isn't. Not for the guys doing the higher-end stuff. Most guys who walk on to set thinking that it's going to be a breeze aren't called back for a second scene.

Drugs have always been a problem in EVERY industry. Janis Joplin and Dylan Thomas and Anna Nicole Smith didn't die of broken hearts, ya know.

When I was working in a corporate world, there were more people racing off to the bathroom to do a line of coke every 40 minutes than I've EVER seen in the porn industry. You need to stop buying all the shit you read. I've seen a LOT less drug use here than I ever did when I was working in purchasing where all the staff were either stoners or tweakers or coke heads.

When I go to my AA meetings in West Hollywood, I occasionally see someone from the industry. But most of the people have high-stress corporate jobs.

I don't understand the question. Tone what down?

To be honest, the only personality issues I've seen that stand out were among the straight guys at Fratpad and most of that was played out on camera for the members. I've had a few gay guys not really be able to get into the scene if there's no chemistry. But I can't recall any straight guy having a problem with a gay performer. Most of them prefer to work with a gay guy because he'll help guide them through the whole process a lot better than a straight guy.

You know what bugs me the most about all the drug accusations is that it's always funny for me to see people bandy it about like it's only porn that has people who do drugs.

I mean, that mother from the 'burbs killed what... 6 people by driving the wrong way down the highway while stoned? Turns out she had a big drug and alcohol problem. Even Sultan himself has admitted to having sex he shouldn't have had when he was too drunk to even have sex at all... but no.. it's the PORN industry that "everyone knows" has a problem.

It's all bullshit and it's all just people trying to put themselves up on a pedestal so they can feel better about themselves. It's always the really sad ones who come in with the "YOU MAKE PORN AND DO DRUGS AND TAKE ADVANTAGE OF PEOPLE" crap.

If that's what he wanted to do, I'd make sure he got hooked up with the right studio and make sure that his career was handled properly. Being a porn model is a long-term career for very few people. The majority have real day jobs unrelated to the industry and porn is just a fun thing to do on the side.

I cant mention names, I don't think, but one guy I've directed twice is a mechanical engineer working on next-gen pace makers made of Teflon. Another is a biology professor at a midwestern university. Another is a high school teacher in Harlem. I know a bunch who are in university taking various professional degrees and just making money for school.

If my son wanted to make porn, I'd support him and make sure he knew that this isn't an ends unto itself but a stepping stone to something else. And if he was from my genes, he'd probably be a FANTASTIC director.
