Asparagus season

There is a wild variety, too, those are the best. My mum can find them like no one else :gogirl:

BTW; isn't asparagus one of those things that make one's piss stink and cum taste foul?

I've never been particularly keen on asparagus. I don't buy it and wouldn't order it in a restaurant.

We call the very thin ones pencil grass.

Love asparagus simply grilled with a little olive oil salt & pepper. :)

Don't mind it in a pie with chicken, can't eat it on it's own.

Oh Fuck. We are about 3 weeks away...but I am watching our patch like a chicken hawk at a Twink rave.

I think it’s all in the preparation. You’ve got to dice it up and season it well, throw it in the garbage and get some broccoli.

I’m kidding, but I do think it’s really a vegetable that requires attention. If it’s overcooked or seasoned incorrectly it isn’t very good.

^ Asparagus tips, morel (?) mushrooms, I'm not sure what the other items are. But it looks good.

I make a lovely hollandaise from scratch that I put over tender fresh steamed Asparagus but we never get the nice size stalks we always seem to end up with the wimpy stalks in out grocers!

I love to eat fresh asparagus when it's available once or twice a year. I've heard that blanched asparagus is a real treat, but I've never seen it in the stores fresh.
