Awful Music that everyone else seems to like...

I'm sorry but I don't see what's so hot about Akon and T-Pain. I think they are two of the most annoyingly overrated artists in the industry now. Jessica Simpson, Clay Aiken, Tom Jones, and Diana Krall = NOT HOT!

As far as rap is concerned, much of what is getting played on the radio is garbage. Some of the best rappers/Hip-Hop artists receive little to no airplay. If rappers who made conscious music (or music with substance) received more exposure, radio playlists would be much better (and the genre as a whole would probably be seen in a much better light).

Oh my God Yes!!!! They are the two worst "artists" in popular music right now. They can't even sing, and T-Pain's voice is so digitally processed, it's sickening. (And I realize that's the style that he wants, but it's completely pointless).

Agree with you guys on Akon, don't know T-Pain, but may just be my luck.

The entire time, I've been trying to show you guys that rap and hip hop, are different genres. You really don't get it. Let me run it down.

Rappers tend to rap about the hood, drugs, guns, sex, violence, etc, without having much substance beyond that. Hip Hoppers tend to have more substance and meaning to their lyrics. If you listen to Hitch Hikin Music from Classified(I know I come back to him alot) nearly every song has a positive message.

Unfortunately, Sex, Drugs, and Violence tend to sell better then positive messages and rhyme, and that's why the radio stations play the crap more then the good stuff.

You really don't get it. (Actually, you dont get it, but no matter how many times its explained to you, you ignore what was said and believe what you want anyhow.)

Rappers tend to rap about the hood, drugs, guns, sex, violence, etc, without having much substance beyond that. Hip Hoppers tend to have more substance and meaning to their lyrics. (The substance of their lyrics has absolutely nothing to do with the genre of music. If they are rapping, its rap music. Period. If they are singing, it's not rap. Rap is one of the 4 elements of hip hop culture. It's really not a difficult concept.)

But shit, Whatever dude.

I love this post to bits.

Thank you for your insight.

I think very similarly.

And who do you think is worse? T-Pain or Akon?

Personally, Akon is pretty bad but T-Pain is the worst. That fucking voice distorter - UGH! Somebody shoot me right fucking now! It's so bad!! >_<

I cant stand:

-Amy Winehouse
-Maroon 5
-Madonna
-Fall Out Boy
-Panic At The Disco
-Frankie J
-Jonas Brothers

...Theres more prolly too...

Rap hip Hop is the same to me, personally i hate them both just alot of artists in it for the money and not the music

IJWB, I have listened, just I don't think your right, I respect your opinion, but both me, and you guys, are trying to drill our beliefs into the others heads.

You are tying in gangster rappers like 50 cent in with actual good rappers/hip hoppers, which is completely wrong. Basically, Hip Hop is the rap that has good themes for the lyrics, such as (yah, yah, i know) Classified and Chad Thatchers 'All About U', which I doubt you've heard, otherwise you wouldn't be so insistent.

Hidden Element, OF COURSE they're in it for the money, otherwise they'd have turned down the record contract, but unless you know them personally, you can't say that all rappers/hip hoppers are just in it for the money, although many of them are.

I Can't stand Mariah Carrey..... I think she's a talentless hack, She sounds like a cat in heat in a blender with marbles....

Why people dote and fawn on her is a total shock to me...let alone her craptastic turn at acting...

Her "music" actually causes my ears to hurt and my brain to ache

.

*Sigh*

You can't say that they are two different styles of music just because you think 50 is crap and Classified is good, or because they rap about different things.
You need to pick up a book or hell even look up the topic on wikipedia. I know there is plenty of material on the subject. Hell Krs One and Afrikka Bambatta have spoken on this on numerous occasions. And if you dont know who they are, you dont need to ever engage in a conversation about Hip Hop ever again.

As for Classified, I have Hitch Hikin Music, I enjoy it. Needless to say, Classified is a RAPPER and Hip Hop, is a culture. Sorry. I'm from New York, where the culture was born, and you still think you're correct. Thats funny to me. Fall back.
