Awful Music that everyone else seems to like...

That's because it's absolutely brilliant. :) It's just the latest "absolute brilliant" thing that drives me up a tree.

Lex

50 Cent. I think he's the worst thing to ever happen to music.

Kelly Clarkson is terrible and I'm glad it's finally out there and no one cares for her new joke of an album. Never Again is one of the worst songs I've EVER heard. She can't write and her voice totally sucks nowadays.

I don't like rap, 90's grunge music, acid rock, or anything by Marilyn Manson.

Hip hop is a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT type of music from rap. Hip Hop involves making the beats, usually yourself, writing meaningful rhymes that you can work WITH the beat, and then mixing it all together, and every so often an artist needs to change everything because the beat or song sounds too much like another artists. Rap is just talking about violence, sex, and getting drunk/high. And we can't forget the personal attacks.

Umm, not quite. Im not sure where these weird ass definitions of the difference between rap and hip hop are coming from but none of them are correct.

Hip-Hop is rap, breakdancing, Dj'ing and Graffiti, the four elements that make up the culture.
Rap is the actual act of spoken word poetry set to a rhythm, whether it be the crap on the radio or the underground artists you've never heard of.

Ok, now that thats taken care of, continue the discussion. lol.

Fergie is considered shit by the sane person, I like to believe.

Hmm, I'm glad my deep rooted hatred for some songs/bands is recognised elsewhere.

But I love Fall Out Boy! How dare someone say they are bad! (Lol, I know we can all have differences, but really?)

Here's where I get my gay card taken away from me:

Madonna.

Why is she famous?

Umbrella....

Why did everyone love that song?

Not saying I hate mainstream, but most of it sucks. However, I have been loving crank that by soulja boy. lol (!)

Why do gays like Steissand/Madonna/Cher?!?!?!

They are lame.

Madonna has had a few good songs though. But she doesnt deserve that much attention.

Seriously, why are you guys hating on hip hop??? For examples of rappers and hip hoppers, some rappers are 50 cent, Eminem, Snoop Dogg, etc, while Hip Hoppers are Classified, Jordan Croucher, etc. They are completely different kinds of music, it all counts on what the beat is like and what the lyrics are. So it's possible for a rapper to do a song hip hop style, and vice versa.

Umbrella is HORRIBLE!!! Whenever I hear it, it's stuck in my head for at least half an hour. Then there's Madonna(JUST GIVE IT UP!!) Mariah Carey(one too many horrible music videos), then there is the boy band era, which I NEVER got into.

I'm gonna be in the minority by saying I love hip-hop/rap.

What I can't stand is rock (excluding pop-rock, synthpop, pop-punk).

Where are you getting this weird ass distinction of what Rap and Hip Hop are Glafna? I looked up Classified and Jordan Croucher and saw they are both Canadian, so maybe if ur from Canada you guy's use the terms differently. But in the States, Jordan Croucher would just simply be a singer, prolly contemporary r&b or pop, and most definately not Hip Hop. Classified is a rapper.
See my above post for the true difference between Hip Hop and Rap, cuz somewhere along the line when it crossed the border ya'll got confused.

95%, maybe more rap is shit. End of discussion.

I like Kanye, old Jay-Z, Nas, and Biggie. That's about it.

I also hate country with a passion but can tolerate Shania or Carrie Underwood with that powerhouse voice.

Most Rap.

Kelly Clarkson...

Ugh. Rap is crap, but you make me sad for the first time. What is it with the Kelly haters? She rocks! LOL

But you're still cool in my eyes. Probably always will be! ^_^

And to the guy way above my post, that girl that sings country and is blond is Carrie Underwood.

Back to Kelly: I respect her because she brings sadness and misery to the forefront and writes about it. She is far from the greatest writer, but not many pop stars write nowadays so that's saying *something*. Anyway, I find that her voice is as good as ever. She's no Christina, but she gets the job done nicely. To say that her voice doesn't cut it these days is...a bad opinion.

But I guess I have to respect yours!

Anyway, Kelly is a decent pop star and I'm sticking to it (I'm somewhat miserable too so I relate to her lyrics)!
