Bachmann will drive oil price below $2 a gallon

Ironically, $2 gas could be achieved. It would take FDR-like measures. Mrs. Bachmann would rather face a firing squad than even consider such a plan.

Why cant Bachmann do it?

Gasoline was less than $2.00 a gallon when Obama's term begin.

Bush did it and Bachmann can do it.

Just because Obama couldnt do keep the price low, it doesnt mean everybody else is incompetent.
.

Please take off the political blinders for a moment.

The price of gasoline dropped sharply in anticipation of the 2008 elections. The price of gas always drops precipitously before the general election in America.

Its not that hard to imagine that the price of oil would come down as the election neared, as it did so rapidly in 2008.

After the 2008 elections, gas prices rose sharply back up on cue.

I think there are a few reasons for this but its basically politics..

1. Big Oil does NOT want the price of oil to become a "political issue" that a NEW congress could DEFINATELY infulence by way of cutting off tax subsidies as Obama is trying to do, or fending off new energy bills that may cut into big oil profits.

2. The second reason is essentially what I said before, to protect big oil profits by bolstering GOP candidates before the elections.

Its not a coincidence that the price of gas in America is reflective of American politics.

I dont buy any of the arugments that the price of oil simply has to do with supply and demand, that some small outside forces can so drastically impact the price of oil, its basically a political tool used by oil speculators and oil executives to avoid scrutiny, and a reflection of the overall economic/political conditions of the time.

Note that gasoline prices peaked in July 2008 at $4.11 per gallon and fell all the way to $1.61 per gallon by the end of the year, less than six months later.

What Michell Bachmann also fails to mention is that the price of gas was on average $2.34 a gallon when Obama was elected.

Bachmann still thinks she can make gas prices drop below two dollars a gallon

Ed Schultz and Bernie Sanders blow up Bachmann's gas plan.

I am forecasting a U. S. national gas average of $2.62 per gallon (for Regular) during the first week of November 2012.

And if Bachmann takes office on January 20, 2013 - if it's not already back up to $3 by then - it WILL be, in a hurry.

In fact it will be above $10 per gallon by the end of 2013, if Republicans take everything, because their foolish and reckless economic priorities will make sure that the rest of the world abandons all credibility they had about the US ability to keep its house in order. Balancing the budget is of no importance whatsoever to them, as long as they can steal from 98% of all of us.

Oh the other hand, I may be wrong, because with Obama already gone, the Republicans will LOSE their main reason to crash and burn and ruin the economy, and maybe they'll do something which is 2% to 3% "reasonable" after all.

No, I DON'T have any links :p
