Bank of America Sucks.

I have a BoA *credit card* and I just got a notice saying that the transaction fee for a cash advance is now being raised to 4% from 3%.

Because my income is exceptionally cyclical (three weeks ago I had already received probably at least 3/4 of the total income I'll have in all of 2009), and because I travel a lot, it's common for me to need to get cash advances.

Thankfully all my banking is done through two banks in this town which are regional. One bank has no branches outside of Macomb at all, the other bank serves five or six counties in western Illinois.

There ARE advantages to living in a small town...

I got tired of the BS Bank of America was pulling on me as well. When I went to close my account, the branch manager was very rude and refused to cancel my account -telling me my money was safer with them than anywhere else. I refused to leave. Told her the only way that was happening was if she called the cops; then I'd call the media and have them there to do a front page story on how the bank was refusing to let customers have access to their accounts. She backed down and closed my account...

Now with the First National Bank here in town. Much better service AND they have two branches open on Saturday! BoA was only open Monday thru Friday from 10 to 2!

I hate BofA. Never had an account, but several of my employers did and I had to deal with them. They continuely screwed up and then would charge for their mistake. They totally suck.

i never had a B. O. A. account. never heard anything good from them, and my source was an employee.

I think the Gov. is either really stupid by printing millions of needless money to support companies that do not need support because we have other sources, or they are planning for something else.

I think they should have let them go backrupt so we can come up with something new and better.

I totally agree!

Most of the biggies do it. Chase did when we were with them, and in fact, Chase was charging us around $30 a month in ridiculous fees at one point. We eventually switched to B of A and have been fee free ever since.

But yeah, go into a branch and tell them you're going to [insert local competitor here] and more than likely they'll make a 'special consideration' for you.

LOL, that sounds like something my partner would do ;)
